Something old & something new. Looking forward to getting Part 1 of #RT9 live🌏✌️

Irrespective of which part relates to the old or the new, #RT9 will introduce a variety of new things to do inside #E2V1.

Appreciate how patient everyone has been with this upcoming release. We have spent a lot of time building core foundations for #E2V1 over the past number of years, including past months deploying & testing systems since the #PreAlpha was released last year. After all the hard work it feels rewarding to now be building & playing some long planned designs that will now work in with & sit on top of those core foundations.

This Reality Thread is quite extensive & complex which is why it has taken a little longer than expected, but I understand it can be difficult to wait, so posting this clip as a little hint, because I know how much some in our community hate to speculate.

Playing very carefully because if you miss one ..

Considering only a little over 1,000 Players have access to #E2V1 so far & we released the first part of #RT9 around 2am AEST when 40% of our most active Player base were sleeping, and on a Monday morning no less, the stats were surprising🌏✌️

Given the time of release & that only about 150 Players have updated to #RT9 so far, peak concurrent #Players of 64 from 150 is a nice ratio. I realise these are small numbers right now given the limited access people have to #E2V1, but these type of stats give us insights into what #Players spend time on in the platform & how popular a feature is or isn't - so I just wanted to say thank you to our badge holders & testers for helping us get these insights, it's super useful!

One other really nice stat I noticed is the 70h spent inside E2V1 free flight mode! This is almost certainly directly related to the new Global Locations update, quietly one of my favourite additions in #RT9 & something we implemented about 2 months ago shortly after the #RT8 release. It's really cool to confirm #Players have also enjoyed it so far! It's definitely nice to be able to identify places more easily inside #E2V1! For those interested, this update was implemented as a prerequisite for the #EcoSim & for some other upcoming location based features we have in the pipeline.

I would also like to share the below response I commented on Discord earlier today. The points are focused on providing insight to some of the early feedback & conversations #Players have had on #Raiding so far:
----
Hey guys. The article will provide a significant amount of extra details around the Command Deck, Raiding, Stalls and all of the other updates. Reading through some of the comments here there are a few things I will point out to make it a little clearer before the article drops:

In response to no quit button once you commit to Piloting in a raid

1⃣ You are flying another Player's Cydroid, a Player who has either Built and Powered their Cydroid using their own Essence, or paid for it via the MarketPlace (and I should also add spent their time setting up raids, targeting properties and the entire flow associated with that).

And they are letting you fly it as a Pilot who has committed to ensuring that the Cydroid you are flying gets as much E-ther on the property as possible in return for your opportunity to also earn E-ther as a free to play Player and to Rank up.

That is the reasoning behind there being no quit button, it is intentional. The Raid ends when there is no more E-ther left on the field or you get knocked out.

In response to Piloted raid window being set to 20 mins

2⃣ The majority of the games do not last anywhere close to 20 minutes, especially when you focus on upgrading particle collection and/or streak perks as I mentioned in my stream, and as some other Players have figured out.

The initial 0.01 E-ther per particle quickly becomes 0.05 per particle with a few PERK upgrades and you're immediately collecting 5x faster than a Rookie and can also be increased further.

In response to games not always having other Pilots in them.

3⃣ The #RT9 build has become available to download for around 1,000 Players, the pre-existing testers and badge holders. There are ways for you to play multiplayer by forming squads, targeting other pilots via perks or inviting other pilots to target you via COME GET ME! The reality is with such a small group of Players currently having access and over 50,000 conflicts per day, especially raids coming in bursts based on conflicts arising, there is a smaller chance you will randomly come across other pilots.

You will mostly fly solo if you do not form squads or use perks. Having said that, I did watch a stream where some pilots were matching into the same raid without any perks or squads which was cool.

Pointing out solo flights also serve a purpose and provide opportunity

4⃣ It can also be beneficial flying solo if you just want to focus on ranking up and collecting E-ther. In the future there will be other items you can get via playing Raids, but I am delaying those until closer to public release to give everyone fairer access. For now the main focus is testing the systems, and also having a little fun

----

For such an extensive update spanning across numerous new systems & without any server downtime, the #RT9 rollout has run relatively smoothly so far. We will be focusing on fixing a few bugs before releasing 0.6.9.1, then once that is stable Holder of Lands badge holders will also get access.

Really excited to continue releasing access to #E2V1 as we roll out more features, such as #Hordes, initial phase of the #EcoSim & #minigames, plus a few other things, leading up to the public release which I am hoping will be later this year IF we manage to roll out the features I'd like to have live before that public release milestone.

Either way, the bottom line is we will continue adding more to do inside #E2V1 while continuing to bridge the gaps between the website & the 3D earth as things progress.

#RealityThread8 is incoming on #Earth2! Another major #E2V1 Pre-Alpha release packed with new systems, mechanics plus lots of hidden details packed into the article🌍✌️

The past 4 months inside #Earth2 have been the most productive period we have ever had in terms of actual product outcome & systems making their way live into #E2V1. System after system, feature after feature, foundations turning into actual playable functionality & you are helping us keep up the momentum so thank you for your support🙏

I understand some would prefer more frequent official articles or smaller update posts along the way, but the results really do speak for themselves. If you look at everything included in RT8, we could have easily split this mammoth article into published posts every couple of days or weekly articles over the past 2 months. However, constantly preparing media, technical reports from devs, posts & announcements takes valuable time away from development, testing & implementation, so our current focus is delivering these larger Reality Threads packed with meaningful, tangible progress every 2-3 months or less.

No hype.

No announcements for announcements.

Just real systems, real gameplay and real progress.

The pace of tangible development progress inside #E2V1 right now is the strongest it has ever been.

While there are a number of foundational features inside #RealityThread8, one thing to pay close attention to is the introduction of global multiplayer ball physics. On the surface you might see a beach ball.. but underneath it is a very important foundational system for #Earth2 long term.

This is not about a beach ball specifically, it is about synchronised global multiplayer physics operating inside a persistent 510,072,000km² world.

Many games spend years refining ball physics alone inside very small contained environments & still can't get it right, so the fact our team is already achieving acceptable multiplayer physics interactions inside something the size of #E2V1 at such an early stage is honestly a very exciting milestone for us internally.

During internal testing we had team members running #E2V1 from Europe, Asia, Australia & South America in a single session, with between roughly 150-300 ping & the experience was still surprisingly playable (considering the sheer scale of #E2V1 & complexity involved).

Keep in mind, lower ping will always provide the best experience when interacting with the beach ball, but this system opens the door to an enormous amount of future possibilities. Just because we're using a beach ball now does not mean it's always going to be a beach ball - the same foundation can be applied any type of ball or spherical object, with adjusted physics, or any size, which could be used for any number of experiences, mini-games, activities & more.

A lot of #E2V1 development is about this type of thing right now. Establishing long term foundational systems that will become part of the platform long term & continue stacking them on top of one another release after release & I am trying to build & release it a way that gives our #Players / testers something extra to do as these pivotal systems come online.

Here is a summary of feature releases inside #RT8, but be sure to read the article for full details as it contains a lot more information than what is summarised here:

🌱 Growing a Garden
🍳 Kitchens & Advanced Recipes
🏖️ Global Scale Multiplayer Beach Balls with full Environmental Physics
🧟 Hordes Scanner
📡 My Property Scanner
📜 In-World Quest Creation
🎒 Superior Backpack
💧 Water Bottle & Survival Improvements
⚛️ Gaia Pulse Reactor
⚡ Massive Performance & UI/UX Improvements
🎭 Character & Multiplayer Optimisation

Everything is coming together, step by step.

As always, thank you to everyone continuing to support #Earth2 & #E2V1 as we keep building. The ongoing support, patience & belief from many members of the community genuinely allows us to continue pushing forward, expanding the team’s efforts & focusing on long term development properly.

This article is being posted a little in advance so Players can wrap their heads around some of the new features & updates, but RT8 is expected to be rolled out in the next 72 hours.

IMPORTANT: RT8 will be another large & complicated Reality Thread release with many interconnected systems going live simultaneously, so please allow the team some breathing room if unexpected issues appear after deployment. These are exactly the types of complex systems that require real world testing at scale & we will continue refining them as we move forward.

If any major issues arise our team has always fixed them quickly in the past, so just give them space please.

Honestly the past few months have been extremely intense, but I can't wait to see #Players enjoying the expanded utility on their properties, growing gardens, harvesting, cooking & not just for the sake of it like in many games, but for actual long term purpose inside #E2V1 leading into #Hordes, #Animals, the #EcoSim & much more!

It makes it all the more worth the while.

Also keen to see #Players kicking around some beach balls - I know we have had fun mucking around with it during QA tests with the team - just remember the lower the ping you have the better experience you'll get! Am planning to build a lot on top of this feature!

In just over 24hrs since #Earth2 Reality Thread 7 went live on #E2V1, our team has been monitoring, fixed a number of issues & has released a new build - 0.4.7.1🌎✌️

For full details on this update please check out:

https://t.co/OeAWWsvr0C

1⃣ Quest completion system fixed for some of the Players who experienced issues completing the Quest when arriving at the Quest location.

2⃣ Discard item system optimised inside E2V1 & on BE - so improved performance when discarding items should reduce the lag time some were experiencing.

3⃣ E2V1 download issue via launcher for badge holders who got their first access in the RT7 release.

4⃣ Item and Recipe categories displaying correctly now.

5⃣ Auto Mentar Storage Chip equip for Mentar Storage Chip quests meaning Players will not have to equip themselves, system will automate it. A concept I want to play more with long term with the Quest system.

There are more details in the article but proud of the team for knuckling down & hustling to get all the above fixes out in just over 24 hours since the official #RT7 release!

We will continue to monitor & improve as we work toward the next major release on this massive 510,072,000 km2 digital planet - Earth 2!

As I have said, if we are quiet then we are busy building! A huge amount of updates packed into this release including a fully fledged global questing system, cosmetic skins, multiple new Character devices, new $ESS burn mechanics & utility, new badge access & much more in addition to time consuming improvements on the #E2V1 Global Building System!

Our #E2V1 releases are our progress. No hype - just releases & getting the foundations for #Earth2 right.

Every Reality Thread brings #Earth2 closer to its long term vision, system on system, feature on feature. One foot after the other. Expanding utility & purpose for land, Essence & other digital items inside #Earth2!

On this occasion we are releasing the article in advance so Players have some time to review their existing Quests. As a courtesy, our team has already cleared & auto refunded all $E Quests and also cleared all Quests created before the storage space check systems were deployed, but we still urge Players to check any remaining active Quests before RT7 drops, as when it drops, Quests will be open for completion inside #E2V1.

As always, this will be a major release with a lot of large, complicated new systems being deployed, so there is always a chance things can go wrong - therefore if something does go wrong please give the team some breathing room & time to get things right! Once this release is fairly stable we will be pushing forward on the next one.

Can't wait to see some of the skins running around inside #E2V1 & Questers competing for the win!

We've been monitoring the #Earth2 Reality Thread 5 release closely the past 2 days & in this short period of time have just now released version 0.2.5.1 with a few updates & improvements🌏✌️

1⃣ Improvements to the global water system that handles water activity based interaction across the entire #E2V1 (swimming, diving, searching, drinking)

2⃣ Fixed an issue where Characters would overlap on respawn after suddenly disconnecting from the server - causing abominations! (team will continue monitoring for edge cases)

3⃣ Fixed an issue where Characters were unexpectedly disconnected from the server

4⃣ Updated teleporting system to reflect E2V1 time of day on destination before teleporting

5⃣ Updated the teleport system to display property owner set property description before teleporting
Fixed a bug where the shovel was not displayed in multiplayer while digging

6⃣ Fixed a bug where the current season would change for a Character after reviving

7⃣ Other minor fixes & improvements

Please check out the article for more details:

https://t.co/kP7cd6qG2c

We will continue to monitor for any further issues as always.

It has been cool to see over a 1000% increase in overall time spent inside E2V1 by Players in multiplayer mode since the Reality Thread 5 release - and even more exciting when you consider the current features are just a fraction of what we have planned ahead!

So it's great to see testers & early access Badge Holders spawning Characters & spending more time inside E2V1 than ever, during what is already a very busy time of year when people generally have very little spare time - it has been very rewarding to see indeed!

And remember what Players are experiencing now is not what Players in the future will necessarily experience. The current mechanics are mainly for explorers, crafters, discoverable item traders & questers - which obviously expand to many other types as mini-games, conquest & other experiences come online.

But by the time Players gain access in the future, including F2P, there will be completely different initial experiences available, even after early frameworks like storage, shops, restaurants, accommodation, mini-games & so forth come online - so while what Players are testing will still be there, there is also be some areas inside #E2V1 that are more developed, especially by the time F2P access is live.

Having said that, many Players in the future may still want to focus on exploring, crafting, discovering, item trading & questing after they get access, so don't how big these early Character focused game play elements may become.

I think it's also important to note that I have designed completely different opportunities for F2P Players entering E2V1, which perfectly align with the current E-ther is life ideology, some which are very unique, so it will be exciting to see some of those in 2026.

If I don't post again sooner, I hope everyone enjoys their time over Christmas & especially enjoys their time with family & friends.

#E2V1 0.3.6.2 is currently deploying. It include new improvements to the global water interactive system which should resolve issues Players experienced after instant teleportation to any location on Earth🌍✌️

https://t.co/5w3JTdxf9M

We also implemented numerous updates to a number of core inventory & item management systems in anticipation of Reality Thread 7, but also to fix some remaining issues since Reality Thread 6 & to ensure it is more robust for long term development.

We have been working on the 0.3.6.2 updates while also focusing on Reality Thread 7 features.

Please check the article above for further details, but the main updates in this version are:

1⃣ An additional fix release for water detection after teleporting, along with fixes for additional water detection issues.

2⃣ Fixed an issue that caused crafting recipes to fail sometimes.

3⃣ Fix #2 above resulted in a further rework of most existing Character systems. These changes improve overall system reliability and also update systems in preparation for Reality Thread 7.

4⃣ An additional fix applied to the invisible leg issue affecting some Characters.

5⃣ Inventory logic adjusted so:

• LMB moves a single item
• RMB moves all items

This is now universal across all systems and applies when swapping items between Inventory, Foraging, Crafting and Mentar Storage.

6⃣ Action Bar “Use Item” logic updated to improve syncing with backend services. Players may notice a small delay between item usage. This delay is expected for now and will be refined further as part of a UX improvement pass.

7⃣ Added the ability to manually resync Character Inventory. This is not required during normal play as syncing occurs automatically, but the manual option exists for cases where unexpected item display behaviour occurs, allowing Players to attempt resolution themselves.

8⃣ Fixed several spatial sound effect (SFX) issues.

9⃣ Additional bug fixes and general improvements.

The global water system is very complicated & the updates to the core inventory systems are not trivial, so there may be issues QA has missed over the past 2 weeks of testing, so as always please be patient with the team, report any problems & we will monitor the release closely & fix any issues that may arise.

https://t.co/XgeugfuSfm

The implementation that took up the most time for this release by far was the foundation for the Global Building System, which will pave way to all building placement systems inside E2V1. So that took up a little more time than expected but we're very excited for it to go live now so we can monitor & improve on it.

The teleportation system was also a feature I knew that would be complicated & time consuming to implement, which is why I initially flagged it for a later release, however, I wanted to get it out now as it paves the way for upcoming features & also makes community meet ups a lot easier to participate in.

It is incredible to look back & realise we have kept our multiplayer & server integration systems live for the E2V1 pre-alpha for 116 days straight now. Over 99% uptime with multiple hot releases & next to zero downtime .. for a Pre-Alpha!! Really proud of this!

This update includes major improvements to the E2V1 multiplayer location system. Internally QA has actually tested 21 versions over the past 3 weeks leading up to this release - so it has been really intense.

While this update is not a stand alone Reality Thread release, other team members have continued working on Reality Thread 5 so some parts of Reality Thread 5 are included in this release, though notably not any major parts.

Thanks again to all of our Pre-Alpha testers, your test data, reports & streaming helps us to identify, resolve & improve issues inside #E2V1, fulfilling the exact purpose of having a Pre-Alpha tester group & most importantly continue building on & improving #E2V1!

Once this version is stable we plan to release access for the remaining testing group waiting access and then we will turn focus on initiating releases to badge holders & the release of Reality Thread 5.

There are still a few Reality Threads I want to release this year so fingers crossed all runs as smoothly as possible.

Little E2V1 Update

Also a quick heads for some of the testers who are getting stuck when trying to spawn a Character. We identified an issue where if you are using a GIF image for your Earth 2 profile photo it will cause problems when spawning a Character - gotta love software development!

There is a fix for this issue coming in the next update, but for now, if you change your Earth 2 profile photo to a standard JPG or PNG image then you should no longer get stuck when spawning Characters.

This is almost certainly the case with TechOps, who has a GIF profile image, but other Players with GIF profiles will also likely be experiencing the same issue without realising it's their GIF profile causing it. So I just wanted to get this info out early.

We are also making further improvements to the location system, specifically in multiplayer mode. It has only taken an extra 1 week so far but worth mentioning as it is the main reason for the delay.

When it is ready I believe we will be releasing as 0.1.4.1.

The update should include:

🌏further improvements to the location system and multiplayer - this should fix random Mentars and Characters sometimes appearing in the sky

🌍further improvements for multiplayer Character syncing over long distances

🌎an improvement to the location system which should reduce yeeting

🌏a fix for Mentar spawning that should improve the ability to spawn a Mentar - something we release that some testers were having issues with.

If you are experiencing the Mentar spawn issue, please wait for the next update before trying again, otherwise you're just retesting a bug we have not released a fix for yet.

QA testing for all of the above are looking good, but as always, nothing is ever certain with software development, so after we release the new #E2V1 version we will monitor & make further fixes or improvements if issues still persist.

This is all part of the Pre-Alpha testing process, for any project, not just ours. It helps us identify issues, resolve them & make improvements for better long term stability of the platform.

But the main reason for this release is to unlock the glider to testers before it is officially released with crafting. Testers can activate the glider using the F hotkey for now, but when crafting is released it will be an item available in inventory after you craft it.

Just a note, if you are on version v0.1.3.2 & come across another #Player floating through the sky (who already updated to v0.1.3.3) then you know why 🪂

Authoritative server based in Singapore, me in Australia with 19ms ping & our QA ( test #3236 on screen) with 300ms ping in Europe. Just sharing this as a quick example of the results we have experienced in QA regarding the interpolation smoothness we mentioned in our latest article.

To experience this kind of smooth responsiveness when I am connecting in Australia, to a server in Singapore playing with someone in Europe, is pretty cool.

These are the type of results we've experienced in QA & hopefully most testers have a similar experience, but that is the whole reason of the Pre-Alpha state, to test different PC & network environments, and then identify any issues, fix & improve.

We are going to test different server locations, starting with Singapore, and it would be useful to see how say a group of testers from Europe experience multiplayer on the Singapore server, a group between America and Europe, a group based only in Asian / Oceania.

Remember, this specific multiplayer system we are testing now is for the open world of #E2V1 & will mainly be for interactive experiences that will not always require fast responsiveness meaning people from different locations around the world can interact without too much risk of losing out on something if they have a slightly higher ping.

For experiences that involve PvP & even some Co-op PvE type experiences, we will run dedicated services for the specific group of Players participating, with options to select regional location, as those experiences will obviously require lower ping, more responsiveness and so forth. This has been covered briefly in the past but just reminding people again who may have missed that or forgotten.

Final reminder, if someone has a really bad internet connection & high ping they will glitch - we can't control how good someone's internet connection is. For those testing together who decide to do a live stream or even record then post later after editing, please try to share details about your ping, FPS (displayed constantly in the lower right corner) in stream or recording and also back to us via the usual tester reporting avenues - we appreciate it🙏

Not that I should really need to say anything as most people would know, but remember X only supports up to 1080 format, I think they actually force 720p, so the quality of the footage I have shared has been reduced to 720p by X.
