Premier Ford’s escape to the cottage while Ottawa is under siege speaks to a concerning pattern of behaviour under his leadership. This is not an isolated incident. He did this as recent as omicron spread like wildfire. His absence and delayed actions have consequences. #onpoli
Ontario is currently being held hostage by a bunch of FaceBook Warriors and our government has BEEN ON A FUCKING WINTER BREAK SINCE DECEMBER 8th AND NOT DUE BACK FOR ANOTHER WEEK!!!!
…let that sink in….
#BREAKING: For 3rd time @fordnation gov’t has declined to participate in a meeting this aft of trilateral table set up by the feds to deal with the ongoing blockades in Ontario. A source w/ province telling @CBCNews “it doesn’t accomplish anything” #cdnpoli#onpoli
It’s time we learn to live with cancer.
It’s time we learn to live with the opioid crisis.
It’s time we learn to live with climate change.
It’s time we learn to live with crime.
Said no one ever.
We are trying to minimize all of these. So why not do the same with Covid?
Very good point made by someone in my Twitter feed. On Wednesday, Chief Sloly referred to tagging and towing as not being an "elegant solution." I heard it and made a mental note of it but didn't think about it. 1/
Today, instead of threatening and assaulting health care workers, ‘freedom’ protesters should simply burn their Health Cards and vow never to use our health care system again.
With the protests being near Sick Kids, surely those mental health advocates are voicing their concerns with the noise and disruptive nature of this demonstration, right? The paeds have written a letter about their concerns, right?
Treatment not threats. Health not hate.
We health workers refuse to hide. We health workers will never hide.
Access to healthcare in Toronto and across Canada should never be compromised! ✊🏾
In 2020, 250 health care workers demonstrating at MPP Lisa MacLeod's office were given 5 minutes to leave by Ottawa police. 5 days into the Convoy protest the Chief says police will negotiate with the demonstrators about leaving?
@cafreeland The Ontario government is unable to account for at least 23 million rapid tests you already sent us (and we all paid for!). We need equitable distribution of tests directly to Ontarians- to our homes, to grocery stores, pharmacies, community centres, libraries etc. #FreeTheRATs
I know this pandemic is frustrating. It’s frustrating that, after two years, we’re not done fighting COVID-19. But over the past few days, Canadians have been shocked – and, frankly, disgusted – by the behaviour displayed by some people protesting in our nation’s capital.
