I was joined by leaders from across Ontario, as well as representatives from our democratic allies, to make the case for Toronto and Ontario’s selection as the next headquarters of the Defence, Security and Resilience Bank.
Team Ontario is ready to hit the ground running and make the bank a success, so we can protect ourselves and our allies and support job creation and economic growth across Canada.

A meaningful step forward for shipbuilding in Ontario.
In collaboration with partners across industry, education, and government, we’ve formalized agreements with Hanwha Ocean and Mohawk College to strengthen our workforce and build long-term capacity.

2026 is shaping up to be another busy winter at the Port Weller Dry Docks, with two commercial repair projects scheduled as well as the continuation of the CCGS Terry Fox Vessel Life Extension. +
As we turn the page from 2025 to 2026, so too do we go from plans to actions at Ontario Shipyards. This coming year, Ontario Shipyards will take a giant leap forward in our goal of revitalizing the Ontario Shipbuilding Industry.
Happy New Year!
We responsibly dispose of vessels that have reached the end of their useful life, which both creates the critical inputs that go back into the steel-making process and supports good-paying jobs at our shipyards. #shipbuilding#shiprepair#vesselrecycling
Ontario Shipyards was proud to host @supportONyouth’s Tools in the Trades Bootcamp at our Hamilton and Port Weller yards!
Aspiring Welders, Millwrights, and Carpenters got hands-on experience from our talented steel team. +
They had the chance to meet and talk with many of our staff who have built successful careers right here at Ontario Shipyards.
A huge thanks to everyone who joined us to explore the skilled trades, the future is bright for the next generation of Ontario's shipbuilders.
Fourteen vessels are moored alongside or on dry dock, highlighting the awesome shipbuilding and ship repair capacity of our St. Catharines shipyard. WE WILL BRING SHIPBUILDING BACK TO ONTARIO. #shiprepair#shipbuilding#teamvigilance#NSS#ontariomade
Sometimes a picture is truly worth a thousand words. If we needed a reminder of how important shipbuilding is in Ontario, look no further than this photo of the Port Weller Dry Docks. +
Their craftsmanship and dedication helped shape a legacy of shared service, sacrifice, and skill that continues to define Ontario Shipyards.
Lest we forget.
On this day, we honour the bravery of those who served at sea, on land, and in the air and remember the vital role Ontario’s shipyards played in supporting Canada’s wartime efforts. +
From Collingwood and Kingston to Port Arthur and St. Catharines, thousands of men and women built and repaired the ships that carried our sailors into harm’s way. +
Thank you to the Ontario Shipyards docking crew who worked late into the night last night to ensure the safe and successful dry docking of the Sterling Energy. #shiprepair#shipbuilding#ontariomade
Day or night, rain or shine, life at the shipyard never stops. Shipbuilding and ship repair are critical to our nation's economic security, which is why we never rest until the job is done. +
