@msjs2021@ETFOeducators These @ETFOeducators grand meetings shouldn’t be happening. Who pays for the venue? food? Accommodations? Union dues which are paid by #ont teachers. These grand meetings are just a handful of the SAME teachers that go every year. @ETFOpresident, this could of been done virtual.
@osbcucscso@voiceofdapeeps@MusingEducator@Teachers__Unite My comment was regarding teachers & not CUPE members. However, your comment “CUPE doesn’t teach!”, they actually do. Last year, EAs were covering classes alone due to staffing shortages. Maybe part of your job action is to put that to a stop, it will help show your value!
@ETFOpresident@ETFOeducators This government calls for new bargaining approach. This round of bargaining is unique & a phase 1/2/3 job action approach will not work. Government won’t care if we wear a red shirt on Friday’s & refuse to hand out newsletters. Time to step up! Work 2 rule in Fall
@voiceofdapeeps@MusingEducator@Teachers__Unite Looking forward to seeing what boards will do once job action begins. Especially the piece when teachers are not allowed to cover other classes that are not assigned in their teaching packages. System will collapse right there!
@FeelingFully@voiceofdapeeps@ottawasuncom@Sflecce@ETFOeducators@osstf point here is that no ONE UNION should do the lifting. ALL UNIONS should job action TOGETHER. But doesn’t happen. CUPE bargains 1st , signs a deal 1st & expects 2 b saved by there “me too” clause. These R facts! CUPE got a pay cheq last job action, #etfo & #osstf didn’t #facts
@voiceofdapeeps@ottawasuncom@Sflecce And CUPE will sign. No solidarity between unions. CUPE will sign with a “me too” clause and let @ETFOeducators & @osstf do the heavy lifting. While teachers were on strike, CUPE was hiding in schools collecting a pay cheq. CUPE should grow a pair & strike. But it won’t happen.
@kristinascordi@ETFOPeel@ETFOPeel, will @ETFOpresident step up negotiation this bargaining round? Wearing a red T-shirt on Friday’s & phase 1/2 won’t cut it. I don’t think @Sflecce will care if we stop handing out newsletters. We need a stronger approach!
@MarinaWriter1 @ETFOpresident Exactly! Job action needs to step up. Phase 1/2/3, not collecting money & not handing out newsletters, wearing a red tshirt on Fridays is going to do NOTHING with this government. @ETFOpresident@ETFOPeel NEED 2 STEP UP! Should b straight to WORK TO RULE this Fall. @ETFOeducators
What #cupe (osbcu) proposed and what the ON government has countered with. In what world would anyone consider this counter offer fair and reasonable? #onted
@divergentTea@Sflecce You guys are not going to strike. Guaranteed you will settle with a “me too” clause. @ETFOeducators & @osstf will do the lifting & striking. These are FACTS! 3 years ago, your members collected their pay cheqs, while teachers were picketing. #facts
@Teachers__Unite@ETFOpresident Karen Brown, if you are going to do the same phase 1,2,3 negotiation/job action approach, RESIGN NOW! Teachers need you to step your bargaining approach to ensure a fair deal for teachers & safe learning environments for all. @ETFOPeel@ETFOeducators
@n_weva@krushowy@TorontoStar@Sflecce@traviskann Fair offer ? What about the last 10+ years of 1% increases? You never cared to comment on that. Wasn’t fair a decade ago, and is definitely not fair now considering inflation. I suggest you look at the entire timeline of wage increases for these workers & then comment.
@stuknthemiddle8 @ETFOpresident Hmm you’re right, where do you put them? So then it makes sense to increase class sizes & cram 35-40 plus kids into 1 classroom. You should be our minister of education!
@krushowy@ETFOpresident & @ETFOeducators will need to STAND STRONG. This is a different government, past phases will not work - work to rule this fall!!
@kelrobinson84 @seissechssix @ColinDMello How about if the government & @Sflecce cares about Ontario children then they would do whatever it takes to get a FAIR deal done!
