Big thank you to @anatalemd for taking time to discuss mentorship and best practices in community engaged service projects with the @Rutgers_NJMS Urban Health Distinction Students!

Spending the last day of the Sustainable Health and Wellness Village Festival with our seniors! Special thanks to Caresparc Consulting who chose @Rutgers_NJMS to be part of this endeavor!
What a privilege to share our vision of Community Engaged Service Learning & showcase the amazing student-led projects @ the 2021 CESL Fair! Thank you to Henrietta Parker, @christintraba1, & the M2s that helped make today a success! @Rutgers_NJMS@anatalemd @DrJoyCox @vgcueto
So glad to be part of communities who get this! Special shout out to our colleagues at @Rutgers_NJMS@UnivHospNewark@NewarkHealth@Rutgers_Newark, local churches & orgs who work tirelessly bringing services to the people! ✨
Our students at @Rutgers_NJMS are out making such a great impact on communities! Over the weekend Sight Savers conducted eye screenings at St. Joseph's Church in West New York, seeing over 60+patients, ranging from 18-89 years of age.
They utilized technology like AI from Singapore & a robot to connect with an ophthalmologist from @UnivHospNewark remotely--to help detect vision-threatening diseases, including cataracts, age-related macular degeneration, glaucoma, and diabetic retinopathy.
Today Caresparc Consulting in partnership w/ @JerseyCares@TableToTableOrg@ColumbiaBank & a host of others held a bbq in honor of volunteers (which included our students at @Rutgers_NJMS) who helped distribute over 1M lbs. of food to those in #Newark over the past 15 months!

When Jessica Pinto’s 17-year-old brother died suddenly in 2018, she wasn’t sure whether she should continue her studies to become a physician or take time off to grieve. On Match Day, she learned where she would complete her medical training.
