New York Department of Transportation fails to protect pedestrians on Ocean Parkway. Pedestrian lane us overrun with bikes +scooters zooming into walkers+ runners. A few haphazardly placed signs and remnants of painted warnings are not enough. #Brooklyn#ProtectOPpedestrians
And yet @NYC_DOT@NYCParks haven't repainted Ocean Parkway pedestrian lanes since repaving road back in 2017. A scant handful of signs and they think they've done their job. Meanwhile, it's often unsafe to walk due to motorbikes and dangerous cyclists.
Audre Lorde lived just blocks away from Silver Lake Park. Last year, the lake's eastern promenade was named in her honor. Visit it at our upcoming tour with the Urban Park Rangers in honor of #BlackHistoryMonth: https://t.co/boaLb2QtkZ
1/ It’s not just you. @ConEdison bills are jolting many New Yorkers, with some bills tripling from a month prior.

May his memory be for a blessing. And we know the good (hard) work you all do at @RWRNetwork and are so pained that a local lunatic accosted you on Friday while you were simply trying to go about your day. Laws need to change in NYC to protect you while you help others!
Yes. New York is full of walkers. And many in the pedestrian lanes on Ocean Parkway are in danger of being hit by the zooming bikers who nearly slam into them daily. How many years will it be before @NYCMayorsOffice@NYC_DOT@NYCParks remembers to repaint the no 🚳 signage?
New York is a city of walkers. And there’s perhaps no better place to stretch your legs in this bustling metropolis than Central Park. Learn more about the benefits of walking in nature: https://t.co/mgIJuZfj43

This is what it's like to try to walk in the pedestrian lane on Ocean Parkway and have to jump out of the way after being nearly blinded by this biker's headlights.
And finally @NYCParks enjoy this image in the pedestrian lane of Ocean Parkway because you never repainted the no biking 🚳 sign after construction nearly 5 years ago.

Team MOIA, @NYCCHR, @mayorsCAU and @NYC_SBS are in Flushing, Queens for the #LunarNewYear celebrations and to spread the word about critical city services and programs like @IDNYC available to all New Yorkers!
A new rule goes into effect in NYC today which requires drivers to stop, rather than yield, for pedestrians in intersections when traffic controls 🚦🛑 are not in place. Drivers must remain stopped until such pedestrians cross the roadway.

Huzzah! Now how about clearly marking the pedestrian walks on Ocean Parkway and gently cracking down on the cyclists and scooters dangerously zipping through the pedestrian lane on OP.
Breaking: @NYCmayor says city will re-imagine 1,000 intersections w/ traffic calming and re-capturing space for pedestrians *INCLUDING RAISED CROSSWALKS*

Lost in the Park? 🤔 Here’s a helpful tip—even for lifelong New Yorkers: check the four numbers on any lamppost base. The first two numbers indicate the nearest street, and if the the last two numbers are odd, you're on the west side and if they are even, you're on the east side.
