Too often, people believe a dangerously false story about Down syndrome.
Parents getting a prenatal diagnosis of Trisomy 21 hear that their unborn baby will have a terrible quality of life. And they come to believe that their child's disability will effectively ruin the lives of his or her family,
Worse, they're frequently told they'd be better off ending their child's life through abortion.
The result is a national tragedy: 67% to 85% of unborn babies with Down syndrome are aborted in the United States.
While many believe it's compassionate to choose abortion, it's simply not: it's a devaluation of the lives of the disabled and an example of modern eugenics.
The reality is that people with Down syndrome have the same human rights and dignity as anyone else. They live incredibly diverse, creative, and happy lives, loved and cherished by their families. And modern medical advancements have drastically improved their health and wellbeing.
So don't believe the false narratives.
Spread the truth: Every life is precious.

The U.S. Supreme Court today issued an order permitting the distribution of dangerous abortion pills through the mail amid an ongoing lawsuit by the state of Louisiana against the FDA.
The move comes after a federal appellate court issued a unanimous decision earlier this month that – if allowed to take effect – would have blocked mail-order abortion nationwide.
Oregon Right to Life Executive Director Lois Anderson responded to the news, calling it a “major disappointment” that will jeopardize women and unborn babies nationwide.

Some lives were eagerly anticipated.
Some were unexpected.
Some arrived during fear, hardship, uncertainty, or impossible timing.
That does not change their humanity.
Every life has value — not because of circumstance, but because they are human.

The Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals today blocked an FDA rule permitting the mail-order abortion.
The decision applies nationwide, reestablishing critical regulations on the dangerous drug which is increasingly prescribed online and mailed nationwide – including to states with laws banning or limiting abortion.
“When the FDA recklessly allowed the abortion pill to be prescribed online and sent through the mail, it created an environment where anyone could access mifepristone through a simple online form,” Oregon Right to Life executive director Lois Anderson.
“The results have been serious. Women and girls have been placed at risk of injury and even death because they did not receive basic protections like accurate pregnancy dating or screenings for ectopic pregnancy. Abusive partners have been able to obtain mifepristone to secretly cause forced abortions. The harm is far from theoretical.”
“The abuse is real and it’s about time it was stopped,” she added. “The Fifth Circuit Court made the right decision today.”

Earlier this month, Oregon Right to Life won a BIG victory against the state of Oregon in federal court.
The judge agreed that it was unconstitutional to force a pro-life organization to cover abortion in its insurance plans... Imagine that!
They told us progress means protecting everyone… unless they’re inconvenient.
If defending vulnerable human life makes people uncomfortable, maybe the problem isn’t the message. Maybe it’s what we’ve become.

Oregon’s assisted suicide numbers continue to rise. In 2025, 637 lethal prescriptions were written under the Death with Dignity Act, with 400 reported deaths after ingestion.
Assisted suicide continues to account for about one in every 100 Oregon deaths.
“Prescriptions of death-inducing drugs are tragically on the rise,” Oregon Right to Life Executive Director Lois Anderson said. “Last year – instead of being cared for and supported, assured that their lives have inherent value and meaning – 637 vulnerable people were prescribed drugs intended to cause their deaths.”
“This is heartbreaking and wrong," she said. "Our elderly, disabled, and medically complex deserve real dignity and compassion, which is shown through love, care, and life-affirming support. Legal assisted suicide sends the opposite message: That Oregon believes some lives are simply less worth living.”
