June 2026 is Western Europe’s warmest June on record and the 2nd-warmest June globally, according to @CopernicusEU Climate Change Service's latest bulletin. The global average surface air temperature was 16.54°C—1.39°C above pre-industrial levels.

A reminder that heatwaves are the deadliest form of extreme weather.
They kill more people annually than any other form of extreme weather.
Everyone, particularly vulnerable people such as those over 65/with chronic conditions should protect themselves against extreme heat.
