Year 5 had a brilliant trip last week to 'Crucial Crew'. We learned how to put people in the recovery position, water safety, road safety and what is the difference between crime and anti-social behaviour. We even got to look at some of the army equipment!
Today in Art, Year 5 used shape stencils to create a piece of Art. We then used paint to blend different shades with white to help create a faded effect.
Year 5 took part in a live lesson today as part of #BSW26 where we had to make ‘flyers’ to test air resistance using card and plastic milk bottles. We also tested a smaller and larger milk bottle as variables to our experiment.
Y5 loved #WorldBookDay and dressing as a word. We designed a new front cover for our favourite book and did a fantastic job performing our poem ‘Homework Rap’.
Today, as part of our Art topic on painting landscapes, Year 5 visited Orrell Water Park. We sketched the landscape after finding a good spot to sketch from.
Yesterday, we read our ‘No Outsiders’ book My Shadow is Pink. After we had drawn our shadows with what makes us, us. We then went around the room and put a compliment on each other’s shadow to show that we all belong.
As part of #Childrensmentalhealthweek Year 5 created a mosaic where each child completed a ‘tile’ all about themselves which we then put together to show that we all belong.
