People don't get angry and confused, they often just go out of their way to learn about something they didn't understand at the time.

I didn't know what Senpai meant as a kid because we don't have that word. If it'd been changed to be better understood I might never have learnt. Being introduced to different references, even just basic jokes, characters, words, practices is a positive. It encourages learning and understanding. Not a negative to be localized away.
