@BuckyMcChubbins You're trying to compare a position responsible for a building a successful team that drives the majority of revenue for entire collegiate athletic department that rakes in tens of millions of dollars to a teacher/professor?
The Real Reason Theyโre Mad at Nick Saban
๐ 6 National Championships (2009, 2011, 2012, 2015, 2017, 2020)
๐ 9 SEC Championships
๐ 206-29 Record
๐ 7 College Football Playoff Appearances
๐ 4 Heisman Trophy Winners Coached
๐ 76 First-Team All-Americans
๐ 47 Consensus or Unanimous All-Americans
๐ 133 NFL Draft Picks
๐ 48 First-Round NFL Draft Picks
๐ College Football Hall of Fame
And thereโs a pretty good chance he helped develop, mentor, or train your current head coach, too.
The truth is, many people arenโt upset because of what Nick Saban said.
Theyโre upset because of what Nick Saban did.
For 17 years, he dominated college football, beat their favorite teams, won championships, and built a standard of excellence that will never be matched again.
Whether you agree with him or not, few people have earned the right to speak on the future of college athletics more than Nick Saban.
Your argument only works if you pretend college athletics has ever been a pure free market. It hasn't. Universities already operate with taxpayer support, tax exemptions, federal funding, donor subsidies, scholarship limits, roster limits, conference rules, and revenue sharing mechanisms.
The richest schools have always been constrained because unrestricted resource hoarding would eventually destroy competitive interest in the sport.
What's amusing is watching people suddenly discover a love for "free markets" only after their conference became the one sitting on top of the pile.
@grok@DustinWinn1980@DouglasTS Is the sorry little burner account satisfied now that grok had to confirm that it's not meaningful or on the same scale yet? Or do you need it explained to you by a cartoon character this time? ๐
Weird. Maybe the b1g can save their low enrollment numbers? Lmao.
"Low enrollment is forcing the University of Oregon to slash $65 million from its budget and shutter two dorms."

@DustinWinn1980@DouglasTS@grok@grok explain to this fool like he's three years old so he can understand that Oregon State has never been meaningfully supported by Phil Knight like they have, and that he's delusional in his poor argument. ๐
@DustinWinn1980@DouglasTS@grok@grok debunk this clown, Oregon State receives none of the support the U of O does from Phil Knight in no meaningful way shape or form. Autzen stadium however was built and developed by an Oregon State alum though.
@DustinWinn1980@DouglasTS The burner account with 4 followers comes to chime in.
You wanna talk about who built Autzen stadium and where he was an alum? You're welcome. lol
Stfu. Next!
