๐จ๐ ISSUE 4 - INTERNATIONAL CHAMPIONS ๐๐จ
TGIF!! To celebrate, our issue 4 is live on our shop. We compare ๐ฆ๐ท and ๐ต๐น with a lot of data points, take a look at @zicky_te and @alan_brandi and also give an intro to set pieces for new coaches. Cover makes a decent ๐ฑ background ๐
๐ฌ โฝ ๐ง Game of Two - Give n Go: Ala Corta or Wall Pass.
Love these examples from Messi and Ndiaye with slight differences. First movement dictating execution in a give n go; The timing and direction of the movement being the key influences on the outcome.
The Ala Corta comes from the first movement being away from the defender (backwards step) as the ball is released then across as the defender moves backwards to attack the inside space.
The Wall Pass moving towards the direction of the pass (forwards) as the ball is released then off the back of the shoulder.
๐ฌ โฝ๏ธ๐ง Game of Two - Give n Go: Ala Corta or Wall Pass: Session
One of my favourite sessions to incorporate these moves use locked channels to constrain the players to move vertically before understanding their horizontal or 360 movements. Key points around engaging the defender and the timing of the movements linked to the clips below.
Set Piece Variation โ๏ธ๐โฝ๏ธ-
Enjoyed seeing Man United using the same set piece with a different execution over the last week dictated by the defensive reaction.
One of my favourite things about Futsal is the ability to utilise the same set piece with multiple variations depending on the defensive set up, space, individual reaction & strengths.
๐ฝ๏ธ @12DTO@OTC_Coach
The reality of the highest level of futsal is that goals are scored within 2 passes or less and with 1-2 touch finish. In the group stages, teams were able to sink the defence height with longer possessions or with 1x1 situations but this becomes much more difficult in KO rounds

๐งต UPDATED: Jaenโs Preseason Goal Data ๐ก๐ข๐ ๐งต
Ahead of the 2025-26 season, I took a look at the teams from Primera. Starting with Jaรฉn, I looked at their goals for and against to begin profiling the team and players โฌ๏ธ
End of the 2024/25 season โช๏ธ๐ต
My first full season in this type of role away from the bench and up in the stands which has taken some getting used to ๐ง๐ปโ๐ป, analysing through 10+ games a week to try and gain any % of improvement or advantage
PAIRED MOVEMENTS โฝ๏ธ๐งโ๐คโ๐ง-
Updated this from a few years ago a couple of months ago with the help of @12DTO who had pulled together an incredible video library to support.
Make sure to catch the Game of 2 & Game of 3 @EnglandFutsal CPD in the next few weeks
๐งต๐ Using puerta-atrรกs movements to win the space in behind
Interโs P-4-0 this season has been ๐I was fortunate enough to see it live against us in the Copa del Rey. What I loved yesterday was the constant threat in behind knowing that Jaenโs weakness was their squad size
PIVOT WATCH ๐ช๐ธ๐
As itโs Copa Week, itโs only fair to share a small insight into some of the newly added figures going into my database. Which is your favourite out of these top-level pivots and why? And how would you opt to defend against them? ๐ค

A common issue I see is when alas get โtrappedโ on the same side as the fix, quite close together. There are a few ways to go about this, here are a few solutions from this past weekend โฌ๏ธ
๐ด๓ ง๓ ข๓ ฅ๓ ฎ๓ ง๓ ฟ๐ช๐ธ๐๐งต
How did Spain force and attack defensive exchanges with different technical-tactical solutions? โฌ๏ธ
๐ด๓ ง๓ ข๓ ฅ๓ ฎ๓ ง๓ ฟ opted for an exchange defence when in a mid to high-block and an individual defence when in a low-block
Here are a few solutions ๐ช๐ธ used to disorganise the defence:
๐๐ Strange day at the office. Just when I thought Iโd seen it all, this comes along to break my stats. In the 2nd half, Ejido scored 2 from just 2 shots (technically) but also missed a 10m pen. Iโve had to count the OG as a shot for consistency. 3-3 draw and onto the next oneโฌ๏ธ
๐ฐ๐ฟ Kazakhstan with 4 goals from regressionsโฆso far
๐ณ๐ฟNZ defending far too high against players that are far too experienced playing as a 5

@12DTO ๐ค @tetefutsal10#ListosParaIlusionar
Didnโt expect such a naรฏve approach from Ukraine ๐บ๐ฆ And hopefully a lesson to many not to try regressions with the goalkeeper if they arenโt calm enough or technically gifted. ๐ defending from ๐ฆ๐ท Kevin Arrieta though dividing and then attacking the passing line
The draw between ๐ฐ๐ฟ&๐ช๐ธ, makes this is even more possible
๐ณ๐ฟNZ proved in their warm up games to be really poor defensively against a pivot and especially on set pieces with no clear principles. I expect multiple SP goals and many shots inside the area similar to ๐ธ๐ง in 2021
๐ฎ Strange Futsal World Cup Prediction ๐ฎ
3 games from this yearโs edition will make it onto this list.
Which games and why? ๐ค There are some key data points and video analysis that supports this
This will also impact the golden boot and will decide some of the key groups
