Specialist Children’s Occupational Therapist in the NHS 💚 Trustee on the Executive Council for the Huntington’s Disease Association 🧬All views are my own.
It was such an honour to speak at this Parliamentary event yesterday! There is so much that needs to change within Huntingtons Disease and to see people coming together to have those conversations was amazing. Thank you to @HDA_tweeting and @hilarybennmp for this wonderful event.
Today the Huntington's Disease Association held an event in Parliament to raise awareness of #HuntingtonsDisease and the #MindfulOfHuntingtons campaign. Thank you to all the MPs who took the time out of their day to attend and for all the community members who came along to support us. This was a monumental event for the charity and community alike and we will continue to push to get better care and support for those living with Huntington's disease 💚
Hi all - as ethics has been approved, could I ask that if you are or have been employed by the NHS, that you fill out my brief questionnaire for my dissertation please - https://t.co/ZaHGRJnAoQ. Feel free to share with other NHS/ex-NHS staff :) Thanks!
I’ve been so privileged to be able to be a part of this co-produced film, as a member of HDYV, and I couldn’t be more excited to see it come out next week! So so proud of everyone involved, a truly incredible group of young people raising awareness and bringing forward change 💚
Next week brings a first for the Huntington’s Disease Association, we’re launching our first co-produced film.
Created by HDYV for young people, the group looked at what they needed when first finding out about Huntington’s disease and how to show other young people that they’re not alone.

Enjoyed participating in Odds and Socks day this week with family and friends for the @HDA_tweeting to raise awareness of the odds of inheriting the disease. It was a really inclusive fundraiser that everyone impacted by Huntington’s Disease could participate in! 1/2

It was confirmed in the House of Lords that the Department of Health and Social Care is preparing a paper on potential NICE guidelines for Huntington’s disease. The Huntington Disease Association have been asked to contribute to this briefing paper for the guidelines.
It’s been announced that @bbcstrictly are going to have a wheelchair user this year. I’ve just sat, honestly close to tears, as I’ve scrolled through the ableist comments about how wheelchair users are not welcome on the programme but also in general society.

"One big problem is that the NHS simply does not value its occupational therapists and physiotherapists."
Great to see the work of occupational therapists & physiotherapists in rehab referenced here. ⬇️

@ClareNQOT So I left my rotation but I still use and value the skills from my rotation. I’m not saying you should do a rotation, just that sometimes the right things come up when you’re not expecting them😌
@ClareNQOT Hi Clare, I knew that I always wanted to work with children but when I was newly qualified there weren’t any local jobs going in that area so I started a hospital rotation instead. Within a year job in paediatrics came up in a community trust. 1/2
