#OTD 5/20/06 – Barry Bonds hits his 714th career HR in the @SFGiants 4-2, 10-inning win over the A's, tying Babe Ruth for second place on baseball’s all-time home run list. The 2nd inning drive came off A’s starter Brad Halsey. #OTDSFGiants @SFGiants

#OTD 4/12/60 - After two seasons at Seals Stadium, the #SFGiants play their first game at Candlestick Park and defeat the #Cardinals, 3-1 behind the pitching of Sam Jose and 3 RBI off the bat of Orlando Cepeda. #OTDSFGiants #SFGiants

#OTD 4/10/84 – Crazy Crab, the club’s anti-mascot, makes his debut before a crowd of 6,837 at Candlestick on hand to watch the #SFGiants play the #PIrates. Crazy Crab was retired after the 1984 season but has been known to make occasional appearances. #OTDSFGiants @SFGiants

#OTD 4/8/86 – In his first #MLB at-bat, Will Clark homers off Nolan Ryan to spark the #Giants to an 8-3 win over the #Astros in the Astrodome. Robby Thompson also doubled and Candy Maldonado hit a game-winning, 3-run pinch hit triple in the t7th to break a 3-3 tie. #OTDSFGiants

#OTD 4/7/71 - Alameda product Chris Speier, a 1st round pick of the #Giants in the 1970, makes his #MLB debut against the #Padres in San Diego. He goes 2-for-4 with a pair of RBI. The Alameda Rifle played 19 seasons in the majors, including 2 stints with the Giants. #OTDSFGiants

#OTD 4/3/02 Barry Bonds hits a pairs of HRs for the 2nd day in a row in the #SFGiants 12-0 win over the #Dodgers, becoming just the 2nd player in #MLB history to accomplish the feat, joining Eddie Mathews of the Milwaukee Braves (1958). #otdsfgiants @SFGiants

#OTD 4/2/17 Madison Bumgarner becomes the first pitcher in #MLB history to homer twice on Opening Day in Arizona in a 6-5 loss to the #Diamondbacks. #OTDSFGiants

#OTD, 2/23/64 – The Giants acquire P Masanori Murakami, 3B Tatsuhico Tanaka and C Hiroshi Takahshi from the Nankaj Hawks of the Japanese League. All 3 are assigned to the Magic Valley Cowboys, becoming the 1st natives of Japan ever to play for an American team. #OTDSFGiants

#OTD Jan. 29, 1918 - Bill Rigney is born in Alameda, Calif. Rigney played with the New York Giants from 1946-53 and served as the #Giants last manager in New York and their first in San Francisco. #OTDSFGiants

#OTD 1/6/58 - 1958 – Willie Mays signs a contract worth an estimated $65,000, making him the highest paid player in franchise history.  Mays, 26, hit .333 in 1957, second only to Stan Musial of the Cardinals, and added 35 home runs, 26 doubles and 20 triples. #OTDSFGiants

#OTD Dec. 8, 1992 -- After spending his first 7 seasons in the majors with the #Pirates, Barry Bonds signs a free agent contract with the #SFGiants. In his 15 years with the team, Bonds won 6 NL MVP Awards and broke Hank Aaron's all-time Major League home record. #OTDSFGiants

#OTD 10/29/14 – Behind 5 innings of scoreless relief from Madison Bumgarner, the #SFGiants defeat the #Royals, 3-2 in Game 7 to capture the 2014 World Series. Bumgarner worked 5 scoreless innings and stranded the tying runner on third with 2 outs in the B9th. #OTDSFGiants
