@hasumpstuffedup Come on now.
That’s a clear holding the ball.
Had a chance to try and dispose of it. Didn’t even try. Fair tackle. Holding the ball.
As an umpire coach if I saw this let go I’d reef the umpire. This is as clear a HTB as it gets.
@DEBOCODEB@hasumpstuffedup So by saying the impact was incidental would mean you are saying there was contact.
Therefore by your own theory it must be a free kick. Accidental or not is irrelevant.
@hasumpstuffedup He was clearly ahead of the mark so technically it’s a 50m penalty.
However a quick warning from the ump to come back wouldn’t go astray. Then if he doesn’t different story.
@Chardy53102203@itsjackknight@hasumpstuffedup Not talking about the undoing. That’s too late.
Watch the replay. Shiel leaves the ground first making that the 75th. The question is about using the injured player rule. But that can only be used if you need a 76th. Shiel was already on the bench.
@itsjackknight@hasumpstuffedup Shiel came off first making him the 75th. Then the other player came off after, who wasn’t hurt or injured, making it the 76th.
So sadly the rule doesn’t refer to the 75th change, only the 76th or after.
@hasumpstuffedup@UmpireFanatic@UmpireAFL This is a very old view of the current model. In the old 3 and 2 umpire system you would be correct. However in the new 4 umpire system this is not only encouraged it is expected. It’s the exact reason why it was brought in.
Umpire 1 was unable to get a clear view. Ump 2 did.
@TynecastleP@vcg47@jrcphotographic@Adelaide_FC No. The signal is just to acknowledge the umpire has heard the siren.
The game ends when any field umpire hears the siren. The signal is irrelevant based on timing. Has no bearing on when the game actually ends.
