@comekebabs Edgy, I know exactly where you should start.
But seriously why do you hate the world when it is so full of oppertunity to eplore and create. Why do you hate being alive so much? Have you even tried to build something meaningfull and beautiful?
@CogitoEdu Stupid take, There have existed and exists societies and cities where people are far poorer and far worse of and they do not go around destroying. And it is not that the government oversees this, with their curent economy this is just the reality of the situation.
@comekebabs Which makes you an enemy of the western world and the ideals that democracy and liberty is built upon. Go create something that contributes to society instead of burning it down.
@CogitoEdu The two things are not connected, it is not a contest about which of theese things you care more about. I just said that personaly I find destruction of cultural herritage to be an unforgiveble crime, many people dedicated their whole lives perfecting that building.
@K1000Journalist I did in fact cry when Hamas used Gaza’s historical monuments for military purposes, potentially making them legitimate military targets under international law. It was hard to swallow, and I still don’t defend Israel’s decision to destroy them.
@CogitoEdu Fair enough. As a lover of art, architecture and culture it is painfull to se a city being vandalized. I will never be able to feel any humanity for the idiots doing so, them and me live in total different worlds.
@SankaraDispatch That’s the difference: the West actually developed the institutions, technology, and productive capacity to turn resources and labour into something of lasting value.
@SankaraDispatch NNonsense. That’s like saying stones and an excavator built a building. Some things may have been built using resources and labour from Africa, but they were still organised, coordinated, and put to use by Europeans.
@CogitoEdu Smart take. Now, how is it relevant to know every single historical building in order to have a principled take that the deliberate destruction of historical buildings is an unforgivable assault on the culture that produced that historical heritage?
@unMixuaCapua Yeah what a strategy, you don't change the world for the better through destruction of outer peoples life work. If these people truly strived for a better world they would build something. But they seem uncapable of that and there is only resentment and envy in their hearts.
@mjfree The French state is in debt and is paying an increasing amount of interesst. People must accept less public spending or the country is heading for bancrupcy and everyone will be worse of.
@RevBradleyUMC Cultural heritage is not just property; it is our collective identity. The cultural heritage, history, ideas, and ideals it represents transcend our own lives. Caring about it is what separates us from animals. Burn it and our civilisation burns.
