Top 50 at last. @Okla_Childrens ranks #49 nationally in Pediatric Neurology & Neurosurgery. A testament to teamwork, perseverance, and excellence. And as we reflect on how far this program has come, we do so with grateful hearts, giving thanks to God.

Innovation often begins with constraints. Nursing shortages and limited OR access led us to develop an outpatient pediatric neurosurgery model with excellent outcomes and greater value. Read more in our upcoming publication in Childs Nervous System.
I jokingly asked my son to help me with a fantasy football draft. Later, he handed me pages of rankings and notes. It's hard to motivate him for Kumon. Sports? Not so much. Reminder: Meet people where they are. Find their God-given passions. Connect with them, and growth follows.
Last night, the Bishop McGuinness Boys Soccer State Team received their rings, commemorating the school's first state title since 2007.
Inscribed on each ring is John 3:30: "He must increase, but I must decrease."
Championships happen when ego decreases and the team increases.
Honored and deeply grateful to be nominated as the @SNS_Neurosurg representative to the @AmCollSurgeons Board of Governors on the 2026 slate of nominees.
I am humbled by this opportunity and committed to serving the SNS, ACS, and our specialty.
@Ornate_Brute contributed to this important study on global TBI, now published in Nature. @OU_Neurosurgery is proud of what he has accomplished, and the impact he will have on patients and the future of neurosurgery. Congratulations to all of the authors!

Our patients are our greatest teachers. Morning Report at @OU_Neurosurgery keeps us grounded: a whiteboard, a case, and a team committed to learning together. PGY‑3 @Ornate_Brute broke down pineal germ cell tumors—proof that low‑tech teaching can create high‑impact learning.
Will Kennedy lived with Chiari malformation pain for 15 years. With God's grace, I am grateful to help him find relief and to work alongside Dr. @NicholasSader in our @OU_Neurosurgery Chiari Clinic. Humbled to be part of his care.

Honored to be listed alongside so many respected colleagues in @BeckersASC “15 Neurosurgeons to Know.” Proud of what @OU_Neurosurgery achieved together. Leadership titles are fleeting. Positive impact and relationships are indelible.

Maverick's courage, his family’s faith, and the incredible teams at @Okla_Childrens and @bethanychildrns made this possible. Thankful to God for the gift of breath, and for the privilege of serving with the mind, heart, and hands He’s given me.

We turned a difficult quality issue into a multidisciplinary improvement effort and then into a published study. Academic medicine means caring for patients, studying our challenges, and teaching what we learn. @OU_Neurosurgery@OUHealth
Treating an unstable os odontoideum in a 3‑year‑old is a significant undertaking, and I’m continually humbled by the skill and dedication of our team who make cases like this possible.
By God’s grace, the child is doing wonderfully.

An all-pedicle screw construct that may increase cost, hypokyphosis, and PJK. We (arguably) obtain the same outcomes with a hybrid construct and translation of the deformed spine: pedicle screws at the foundation; polyester bands at the apex; and hooks at the top.
There are two schools for craniopharyngiomas: aggressive vs subtotal resection plus radiation. Here we try to for a gross total resection through the optico-carotid triangle, identifying and keeping safe the optic nerve, carotid artery, and CN III. What is your philosophy?
Dr. Roberto Heros wrote his memoirs: https://t.co/bi4W74v5bX . I fondly remember most of his stories from residency @UMneurosurgery. He knows me better than me - “did not tolerate fools well.” Dr. Heros is the greatest; I am one of the FORTUNATE ones to call him a mentor.
