Today we highlight Soror Toni Morrison. She was an influential novelist. Toni chose Black women as her main characters so that America could see life through the lens of a Black woman. Thank you Soror Toni for giving Black women a platform to tell their own stories.๐๐ #BHM
Today we highlight Soror Kamala Harris. She is the current Vice President of the United States & is the first woman, Black American, & South Asian American to serve as VP. Thank you Soror Kamala for exemplifying that women of color can have seats at the highest tables.๐๐ #BHM
Today we highlight Soror Coretta Scott King. Born in 1927, Coretta was an influential civil rights activist. Later on in life, she began to lead civil rights initiatives & founded the King Center. Thank you Soror Coretta for advocating for minoritized groups in the U.S.๐๐ #BHM
Today we highlight Soror & poet Maya Angelou. Maya is most famous for her 1969 autobiography โI Know Why the Caged Bird Singsโ that addresses racism & trauma. Thank you Soror Maya for your dedication to confronting the hardships faced by Black Americans.๐๐ #BlackHistoryMonth
