The Family Integrative Recovery Systems Therapy (FIRST) program is hosting a resource fair for Veterans and their family members. The event will showcase resources and services available both within the VA and the local community to support Veterans and their families.
The FIRST program will also offer activities for Veterans, their partners, and children. These activities are designed to promote family connection and encourage intentional time together over the summer. The goal is to improve positive family and parenting interactions and help reduce stress and conflict in Veterans’ family lives.
Today, the Orlando VA Healthcare System had the privilege of honoring two Veterans during a Final Mile Ceremony, a solemn reminder that no Veteran should ever be forgotten.
Together, we gathered to pay tribute to their service and sacrifice through prayer, reflection, Taps, and the ceremonial folding of the American flag. While these Veterans may not have had loved ones present, they were surrounded by a grateful community committed to ensuring they received the dignity and honor they earned.
A special thank you to the Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association for providing the escort to Cape Canaveral National Cemetery, and to our chaplain, staff, volunteers, and all who participated in making this tribute possible.
Today, we stood together as family, honoring two heroes on their final journey.
