We have reached a point where moving items and materials between a player’s accounts can apparently result in a permanent ban, while Embark has publicly described temporary suspensions and a second chance for some cheating violations. How do you expect players to look at that disparity and stay quiet?
Let’s be clear: hacks and aimbots ruin fights, cost legitimate players their gear and time, and destroy trust in the game. If transferring items between a player’s own accounts is considered serious enough to warrant a permanent ban, players deserve to know which rule was broken and why the harshest penalty applies. Item transfers, selling items for value, and duplication exploits are different things. A vague ban notice does not explain which one you believe happened.
The issue is bigger than one punishment. It is the message your enforcement sends. When a player sees a permanent ban over items earned in-game, but hears of cheaters receiving a 30-day suspension and a chance to return, the obvious question is: how can moving materials be treated more harshly than an aimbot? What standard are you applying, and who reviews these decisions?
That disparity is frustrating enough to make people question your priorities. Who benefits when some cheaters get another chance while a player loses access permanently over an item transfer? Your decisions have raised that question. You owe the community a clear answer.
Tell players plainly: Is moving items between your own accounts prohibited in itself? What makes a case serious enough for a permanent ban? And are these decisions reviewed with the full circumstances of each case in mind?
Protect the game, absolutely. But opaque and disproportionate punishment destroys the trust you need to protect it.
