The 9/11 memorial installed in 2002 at the high school includes steel beams and a block of granite recovered from ground zero. 18 years after the attacks, the memorial stands as a reminder of the victims and first responders, both living and lost, as well as their loved ones.
Students, staff and visitors gathered for a 9/11 memorial service this morning @ORSchools. Attendees formed a line to thank first responders from @OakRidgeFD & @OakRidgePolice. Special thanks to the NJROTC program and @CouncilOrhs. #NeverForget 🇺🇸
Members of #ORFD had the honor of participating in a memorial stair climb at the Sunsphere in remembrance of the 343 FDNY firefighters who lost their lives during the events of Sept 11, 2001. Participants climb 110 divisions, the same height as the twin towers. #NeverForget

At approx 10:52am today, #ORFD responded to a kitchen fire at an apartment on Teller Village Ln. No injuries reported. The vent hood, cabinets and stovetop were damaged, but the fire was not able to spread because an automatic stovetop fire suppressor was activated.
Over the weekend, #ORFD's C-Shift trained on rope rescue techniques. Firefighters practiced anchor building, lowering systems, haul systems, and tending Stokes baskets. Thanks to all those who participated! #OakRidge 🚒
