Today was "teachers dress like students" for Halloween.... so we did & made art like our students lately too! π€£

OIS Fine Arts Festival set up is done & ready for tomorrow! We brought over 230 pieces of 5th & 6th grade artworks (we lost count π€£)! We will be at Tomball High School tomorrow from 9-4! Come say hi π¨ @TISDOIS
OIS ART had 19 art students participate in the TAEA Jr. Vase (Junior Visual Arts Scholastic Event) @ Aldine HS this morning.
We brought home 21 medals for level 4 ratings! They all came back from their interviews as more confident artists after talking to jurors about their art!
Had a great time teaching PD sessions today for secondary ART teachers at the Spring Professional Learning Collaborative Day with my favorite teaching partner! π¨π¨ @FineArtsTomball @TomballISD @TISDOIS
We stopped in the middle of a big project today to make Heart Origami in 6th grade art for Valentine's Day! @TISDOIS

Congratulations to 5th grader, Kavya Sivakumar whose artwork won BEST OF SHOW at the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo Art Contest! We are so proud that her artwork will represent Oakcrest Intermediate at NRG stadium!
Way to go 6th grade Art students Kassadie Karsteter & Annalise Waller who volunteered to speak to all 400 OIS 5th graders about why they love their ART Elective!!! π¨
