The problem for a lot of our goal setting which causes poor progress...
We demand better FOR ourselves, but we don't demand better FROM ourselves
It starts within
Nutritionists are interpreters
We interpret the research for athletes so it becomes actionable
We also interpret what the athletes want from what they say (not always the same thing) and find the best solution for the individual
Athletes communicate in their language not yours
It’s become easier to search for what’s best in the moment than to zoom out and look at the best path beyond that
Work hard to shine brightly for a long time not to blow up and then disappear
Be a candle in a world full of fireworks 🕯️
Easy come, Easy go
In a world where the emphasis is on the latest hack, trend, craze or fad; the value of hard work and consistency is becoming unfashionable
Take pride in your work and the process.
Anyone can replicate a hack, but your hard work and the lessons from it are unique to you
They can’t be taken away
If you want consistency and long term success, then here’s the hack…
You need to be consistent in your hard work for the long term
Or in other words, embrace your struggles because you’ll come back better and stronger from them and don’t become complacent during your successes, nothing is permanent.
Kintsugi 🇯🇵⭐️
Look at this bowl.
What’s the first thing you noticed about it?
Probably the gold?
Kintsugi is the Japanese art of mending things and in particular pottery by typically piecing it back together with gold.
I’m optimistic enough to embrace the beauty in my journey, but experienced enough to understand the road may have changed since I walked down it so guide others with both of these thoughts in mind.
Beauty in imperfection, impermanence of success
Any players/teams that need some help in building a fantastic nutrition structure that develops autonomy and allows individuality to shine through get in touch 💫
Footballers are raised in a culture and setting that encourages autonomy and decisiveness within a structure.
An example is a world class central midfielder deciding which pass is best and most appropriate in a situation. Will the player have had help making this decision? 🧵
Than the same scenario if they already feel smothered and overloaded with information.
Allow freedom within your structure and the picture becomes more beautiful than you could ever have created alone.
