Following our productive meeting in Abuja with the Polish delegation led by His Excellency Krzysztof Gawkowski, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Digital Affairs, I was in Warsaw, Poland for high-level discussions with my counterpart, the Minister of Interior of the Republic of Poland, His Excellency Marcin Kierwiński.
Our meetings focused on advancing strategic collaboration in internal security and civil protection. We reaffirmed our shared commitment to enhancing border security through improved border management, intelligence sharing, and the fight against transnational crime.
We also agreed to strengthen fire and rescue services by exchanging expertise, training, and best practices to bolster our emergency response capabilities. In addition, we committed to building resilience in civil defence and critical asset protection to safeguard key national infrastructure and public facilities.
A major outcome of the visit is the agreement to establish a Technical Working Group that will develop a comprehensive cooperation framework, identify priority areas of partnership, set implementation timelines, and propose mechanisms for sustained collaboration.
We also underscored the importance of correctional reforms and human rights, ensuring that our cooperation is guided by international standards and the rule of law.
I was accompanied on this strategic visit by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Interior, Dr. Magdalene Ajani; the Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Immigration Service, Kemi Nanna Nandap; Commandant-General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Prof. Ahmed Abubakar Audi; Controller-General of the Federal Fire Service, Olumode Samuel; and Controller-General of the Nigerian Correctional Service, Sylvester Ndidi Nwakuche.
In line with the renewed Hope Agenda of His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR, this partnership demonstrates our determination to adopt global best practices that will ultimately deliver better security and safety for Nigerians.
Nigeria continues to strengthen its global partnerships under President Tinubu's #RenewedHope agenda. The security alliance between Poland and Nigeria, championed by @BTOofficial, marks another milestone in enhancing border security, migration management, and national safety.
Democracy thrives when every voice matters. Together, let us build a stronger, more united, and prosperous Nigeria. Happy Democracy Day! #DemocracydayNigeria#DemocracyDay#BTMT

But @TheoAbuAgada i dey wait for you to start promoting and praising Peter Obi @PeterObi or pushing Obidients narratives. Evident CHOKE.
After almost 12 years @obyezeks spoke about their mob attacking Pastor Adeboye of RCCG. But their hypocrite mob leader @PeterObi (according to Adeyanju) is still pretending not see the attack of HIS BINHO(ekukes) on the person of Pastor Adeboye and his ministry. Just because he was not Pastor Oyedepo of the "YES DADDY'S LEAKED TAPE".
The transformation within the Ministry of Interior shows what can be achieved when leadership is anchored on accountability, innovation, and service. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's vision and Hon. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo's execution continue to move Nigeria forward. #RenewedHope

Today, I received the Head of the European Union Delegation to Nigeria, Gautier Mignot, accompanied by Frederik Klinke, President of the European Business Chamber in Nigeria (EUROCHAM), on a courtesy visit to my office.
Our discussions centred on fostering deep collaboration, sharing innovative ideas, and ensuring that our immigration frameworks seamlessly support genuine international investments while safeguarding Nigeria's national interests.
Nigeria is moving decisively away from slow, manual, and vulnerable legacy processes. We are building an automated, transparent network where foreign experts can manage their work permits directly, completely cutting out middlemen and unauthorised agents.
The Renewed Hope Agenda of His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, is focused on ensuring that expert talent adds real, measurable value to the Nigerian economy, particularly through proper tax compliance.
By collaborating closely with the EU and EUROCHAM, we are meeting in the middle to create a balanced, world-class system that welcomes global expertise while firmly honouring the sovereignty and economic integrity of our dear nation.
Today, I received the comprehensive report of the Independent Investigative Panel on alleged corruption, abuse of power, torture, cruel, inhumane, and degrading treatment against the Nigerian Correctional Service.
The committee, chaired by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Interior, Dr Magdalene Ajani, completed this huge task after eighteen months. This milestone marks a critical step forward following the inauguration of the panel in November 2024.
The findings will serve as a strong foundation for transforming our correctional facilities from mere places of incarceration into true centres of rehabilitation, reformation, restoration, and reintegration.
The rate of recidivism has drastically declined from 11,616 inmates in 2023 to 1,382 inmates in 2025, due to intentional rehabilitation efforts. Currently, 62 inmates are pursuing postgraduate studies, 261 are undertaking undergraduate programmes, 1,125 are in ongoing studies, and 9,582 others are participating in non-formal vocational training in various skills.
As I stated in my address, the essence of a correctional service must be transformational and corrective, ensuring compliance with the law while protecting society and restoring hope.
As a government, we are committed to ensuring that no Nigerian, whether free or in custody, is left behind. We will move aggressively from this report to a robust implementation strategy, supported by effective monitoring and evaluation frameworks that will deliver lasting change.
Our goal is clear. Never again should our correctional centres be associated with dehumanisation, corruption, or discrimination. They must become places where lives are rebuilt and inmates are prepared as valuable assets for the growth and development of our dear nation.
We've been following Atiku's handle, he has never condemned terrorists attacks on citizens.
@ShehuSani can you prove that wrong. Ariku is Kachalla according the grass cutter Lawal...
