We had a full staff general meeting in the office today. Our director asked every female staff member in the meeting if the senior colleague had ever asked us out.
No one said anything ( this same man that nobody likes in the office), then the director narrated how he became aware of what transpired between the man and the corps member.
She joined the company last year, and since then the senior colleague has been constantly on her neck (she is a beautiful and calm lady). So last month, when the director had a meeting with us, the lady reported the issue to him with evidence. That was when the director told her that if the man refused to let her be, she should escalate it so the case could become official.
Over the weekend, the lady sent him a strong message so that he would stop harassing her, telling him that she would find his wife and send screenshots of all their conversations to her. The man replied that he had dated many of her mates without any noise.
So yesterday, when the lady came back from CDS, she was served a query for negligence of duty by the senior colleague. She went to his office to ask why she was given the query, but the man pushed her out of the office and slapped her. She returned the slaps immediately.
Anyway, our senior colleague has now been given an indefinite suspension without pay.
God bless this corps member. At least we can breathe fresh air in our office again.
Nigeria’s Deputy Senate President flew a homeless man from Lagos to London.
Told him he was going for a better life.
The plan was to harvest his kidney for his sick daughter. 😳😳😳
The man used to sell phone parts at a market in Lagos.
He could not afford a £25 bus ticket to Abuja.
When he landed in London they took him straight to the Royal Free Hospital.
The doctor examined him.
Said he was not a suitable donor.
He ran.
Slept on the streets of London for three days.
Then walked into a police station.
Told them he was looking for someone to save his life.
The senator had promised him £7,000 for the kidney.
Told hospital doctors the young man was his daughter’s cousin.
The UK judge said the senator had multiple properties, domestic staff, maids, chefs and drivers.
His victim could not afford a bus ticket.
The Nigerian Senate President wrote to the UK court begging for leniency.
Former President Obasanjo wrote a letter too.
The Speaker of the House called him a brilliant lawyer and dedicated family man.
The UK judge was not moved.
First conviction of its kind under Britain’s Modern Slavery Act.
Nine years and eight months.
His name is Ike Ekweremadu.

In court this morning, there was this case where EFCC arrested and detained someone for 16 days.
The suspect, through his lawyer, filed a fundamental rights action challenging the continued detention.
When the EFCC lawyer was explaining why the suspect had been in their custody, omo… the court sparked. The judge told EFCC:
“You people can be lawless sometimes. Why will you detain somebody for 16 days without a court order? That is why you people lose cases up and down.”
The court was visibly angry (and honestly, why EFCC go detain person for 16 days? E get as e be).
Imagine say the reason for the arrest and detention na because the suspect dey owe somebody one million naira. Since when EFCC become debt recovery agency?
Finally, the court gave judgment against EFCC, the police, and the creditor (the person wey the suspect dey owe). The court ordered them to pay ₦1.2 million to the suspect/applicant for unlawful detention.
So you see why you should not sleep over your rights. Our judges are still here doing justice and being the hope of the common man.
My advice: Stop using police and EFCC to recover debt — it is illegal. If you are arrested unlawfully, tell your lawyer to file a fundamental rights enforcement suit ASAP. E dey help.
