إنه لأمر يدعو للاستغراب أن تسارع إيران للرد تكرارا على أي استهداف تتعرض له، أو يتعرض له حلفاؤها في لبنان بقصف دول مجلس التعاون أو بعضها، كما حدث اليوم عندما قصفت الكويت والبحرين. ولا يسع المرء هنا إلا أن يتساءل عما إذا كانت هذه الأعمال ضد دولنا تتم بنية مبيتة أساسا، إذ لا يوجد غير ذلك مبرر لها. فإيران تعرف من يقصفونها ويقصفون حلفاءها في المنطقة وتعرف عناوينهم كما هو الحال منذ أن اندلعت هذه الحرب. ومع أني لا أدعو لقصف أي جهة فإن من الواضح أن إيران تريد بهذا القصف لدولنا الضغط على من تعتقد أنه الطرف الأضعف في النزاع المحتدم حاليا.
وهذا وضع يحتاج إلى موقف خليجي جماعي كي تعلم إيران أن الأعمال غير المبررة التي تقوم بها لن تضعفنا، ولن تجعلنا نتنازل عن حقوقنا. فبعض دول الخليج وبالأخص بلادي كنا وما زلنا مع إقامة علاقات إيجابية مع إيران، الجار الأقرب لنا، ولكن عليها أن تعلم دائما أن تلك العلاقات لن تقام بالابتزاز، ولا على حساب سيادتنا. كما أن على إيران أن تعلم أنه ليس من السهل الاستمرار في الانتقام من دولنا أو من بعضها ردا على استهدافها، أو استهداف حلفائها.
أما إغلاق مضيق هرمز المستمر إلى الآن، فينبغي ألا يكون هناك أي تهاون أو ضعف في المواقف حياله حتى يظل المضيق ممرا دوليا كما هو منذ البداية.
في ضوء هذا كله، يجب على دول مجلس التعاون أن تعي كل التداعيات الممكنة لأي تهاون وتخل عن المصالح، فلا تقدم أي تنازل عن حقوقها الثابتة وعن سيادتها.

In intensive talks at highest level in 47 years, Iran engaged with U.S in good faith to end war.

But when just inches away from "Islamabad MoU", we encountered maximalism, shifting goalposts, and blockade.

Zero lessons earned

Good will begets good will.

Neither the US-Israeli side nor the Iranian side deserve any good will whatsoever.

But the innocent people on the ground do not deserve to be held hostage by the whims of warmongers.

Even though Pakistan was targeted by Iran with missiles in 2024, Qatar in 2025 and 2026 and Saudi Arabia in 2026;

all three of these countries, in step with Egypt and Turkey, have put everything aside to prevent human suffering.

Qatar in particular has long punched above its weight to consistently value putting an end to human suffering above all other political considerations.

This is still a fragile truce, and it is too early to celebrate specially with the attacks on Lebanon intensifying - but we can take a moment to feel glad that among all this chaos and bloodlust we have a peace axis in this region.

Qatar Condemns Israeli Airstrikes on Wide Areas in Lebanon

Doha | April 08 2026

The State of Qatar condemns the series of heinous Israeli airstrikes that targeted wide areas in Lebanon and resulted in hundreds of deaths and injuries.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs deems the strikes a serious escalation and a blatant violation of the sovereignty of the sisterly Republic of Lebanon, international humanitarian law, and United Nations Security Council Resolution 1701.

The Ministry calls on the international community to assume its responsibilities by compelling the Israeli occupation authorities to halt their brutal massacres and repeated attacks on Lebanon, and to ensure their compliance with international laws and charters.

It also expresses the State of Qatar's full solidarity with the Republic of Lebanon in the measures it takes to preserve its security and stability, while reaffirming Qatar's firm position on Lebanon's unity, sovereignty, and territorial integrity.
