Dear Assemblywoman Judy Griffin,
I am writing to you today to urge your immediate support for and passage of Bill A6730, a critical piece of legislation that strengthens and modernizes New York’s Son of Sam laws.
For decades, Son of Sam laws have served an essential purpose: preventing individuals who commit heinous crimes from profiting off the pain, trauma, and loss they have inflicted on others. However, as media landscapes evolve and new avenues for notoriety and monetization emerge, existing protections have not always kept pace. Bill A6730 represents a necessary step forward in closing those gaps and ensuring that justice extends beyond the courtroom.
At its core, this bill is about fairness and dignity. It affirms that victims and their families—not perpetrators, or their families—deserve the right to benefit from any financial proceeds tied to these crimes. For families who have already endured unimaginable loss, it is unconscionable that offenders could exploit their notoriety for personal gain.
This issue is not theoretical. In recent years, high-profile cases have demonstrated how easily individuals accused or convicted of violent crimes can generate profit or public platforms through media deals, documentaries, and other forms of exposure- particularly, the selling for profit, of “murderabilia” related to the Gilgo Beach murders.. Without stronger safeguards, victims’ families are left to navigate an already painful system with limited recourse.
Passing A6730 would send a clear and unequivocal message: New York stands firmly with victims and their families. It would reinforce public trust in the justice system and ensure that accountability does not end at sentencing.
I respectfully ask that you prioritize this bill and advocate for its swift passage. Victims and their loved ones deserve nothing less.
Thank you for your time and your commitment to justice.
Sincerely,

@901Lulu So very calculated imho how scary Annas last moments had to of been 🥺
I really really want to know how their home life was & how much of wat the ex bf says is true. How neglectful were the parents, especially if there was tension..did the parents see it, know, etc
This case 💔 just so horrific! This sounds very calculated imo & not from missing his insomnia meds the night before, like his mom was trying to say…again jmo 💔 Justice ⚖️ for Anna 💜
Trigger warning-
Anna Kepner’s phone was missing from the room. It was later found damaged in or near a trash bin area on the ship.
The ship’s WiFi data shows Anna’s phone moving along the same path as Timothy Hudson the next morning. Near the jogging track, a smoking area and then near the trash bin where the phone was found.
Anna’s Apple Watch stopped recording during the window prosecutors believe she was killed. The watch itself was never found.
The ME found Anna’s underwear in an unusual position, with part of it inserted into the vaginal area. This supports the sexual assault allegation.
FBI lab results allegedly found male DNA and sperm from vaginal swabs with very strong support for Timothy Hudson as the male contributor.
Another minor witness Anna reportedly had sex with on the cruise was excluded. #justiceforannakepner
