@Bangtanthro Quite literally on Tuesday, I was sandwiched in the merch line by a lesbian couple from Germany and a lesbian couple from the Netherlands. I road the train back with, I think, a lesbian couple from France. But it’s harder to tell with the French.

@lroconn15 Wow. What a patronizing dickhead, who seamlessly elides “parasocial” with “celebrity” (ignoring all the nearly identical criticism that 19th-century novels elicited — unhealthy fantasies mostly for women) and dismissing the fun (and very real) social bonds they inspire.

@TRACEYWlTHANE@Ticketmaster This is Ticketmaster straight-up embracing being a bad, embarrassing, wish-you-could-finally-get-rid-of-them boyfriend. Why can’t I quit you, you infuriating f**k?!
@lroconn15 Absolutely. “Borrowing” has opened me up to finding and trying new music in a way Back-in-the-Day never could. But there’s something about building an archive as an act of personal self-definition and autobiography that it can’t approximate.
@ayushidelhi1996@dreamglowmag Aw…I enjoyed “Almond,” though I suppose it was intentionally weird and uncomfortable. I agree on “Crime and Punishment,” though. It’s like Dostoevsky half-missed the point of his own novel.
@dreamglowmag I realize no author can bat 1.000, but what was Michael Chabon doing in “Gentlemen of the Road”? Also, after reading “Orlando” I thought I’d like “To the Lighthouse,” but it turns out I don’t like Woolf, just “Orlando.”
@dreamglowmag Re-reading for work, but that doesn’t make it any less amazing: Signs Preceding the End of the World by Yuri Herrera. And, at the recommendation of @Sunshine_Face94 (who’s doing the whole RM book challenge): Human Acts by Han Kang.
And here’s the whole thing. For all my handwringing and indecision, for all my guilt about all the songs I left out (I’m still so sorry “Crying Over You”!), this feels…right.
