@PeterObi If at the end of this election season, Peter Obi finishes with only one vote, I am determined that that one vote is mine. This is my only mission at the end of this election cycle.
MY ADDRESS TO MARK THE COMMENCEMENT OF THE 2027 PRESIDENTIAL AND NATIONAL ASSEMBLY CAMPAIGNS
21 August 2026
Dear Compatriots,
Members of the Press,
Distinguished ladies and gentlemen,
Wednesday, 19 August 2026, marked the official start of the campaign period for the 2027 Presidential and National Assembly elections.
There is no doubt that this is a defining moment for our democracy. This moment gives Nigerians the opportunity to assess the records, ideas, and plans of those seeking their mandate to lead their country at a time of grave uncertainty in our rapidly changing world.
I consider myself quite privileged to be one of those seeking your mandate to deal with these challenges facing our country.
I enter this contest with one firm conviction: Nigeria can work, and Nigeria must work.
Nigeria faces several serious challenges. Some of them are indeed of existential proportions.
According to the IMF, 63%, or over 140 million Nigerians, live at or below the national poverty line, while humanitarian agencies estimate that 35 million people will need food assistance during the 2026 lean season. About 3.6 million Nigerians remain internally displaced, largely because of conflict and insecurity. Each year, millions of young people enter the labour market, yet too many struggle to find productive opportunities. Weak infrastructure, unreliable power, insecurity, and the excessive cost of doing business continue to burden households and constrain enterprise.
These are more than statistics. They reflect the daily realities of Nigerian families, farmers, workers, students, and businesses.
Yet I do not believe Nigeria lacks the ability to overcome these challenges. We have the people, resources, market, talent, and enterprise. What we must do now is turn these strengths into security, productivity, and shared prosperity.
LEADERSHIP MUST DELIVER RESULTS
My successful private-sector experience, studies in institutions of repute on policy and business matters, and my service as Governor of Anambra State have shaped my understanding of public leadership. Government must manage resources responsibly, set clear priorities, and measure the outcomes of its decisions. Public office is not a reward; it is a responsibility to the people.
In Anambra, I prioritised the foundations of long-term development: education, healthcare, infrastructure, fiscal discipline, and institutional capacity. I do not present that record as perfect, but as an experience from which Nigerians can draw their own conclusions.
Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso brings a different but complementary governing experience.
As Governor of Kano State, he focused strongly on education, technical training, scholarships, infrastructure, and human-capital development. His administration’s investments in education and skills showed an understanding that the people are a state’s most important long-term resource.
Our experiences are different, but our conclusion is the same: Nigeria must invest in its people and manage public resources with discipline.
BUILDING AN ECONOMY THAT WORKS
Nigeria needs more than reactive reforms. We must focus on the questions that matter:
Are Nigerians better off than they were four years ago? Can they afford food, education, and healthcare? Can businesses produce, expand, and create jobs? Can young people find productive work? Can farmers work safely and get their produce to market?
We’ve heard this one before.
In 2022, the Federal Government launched EYEMARK, a website and app that was supposed to let Nigerians track government-funded projects, see how much was appropriated and report what was happening on the ground.
By 2023, the platform was said to be insufficiently populated because MDAs were not providing enough information.
Now, FG wants to build another platform for all 774 LGAs.
Great idea, yes. But we've learnt that a transparency portal is only as useful as the information government puts into it.
That’s the gap @TrackaNG has been working in for years, empowering citizens to monitor millions of government projects and hold public officials to account.
And one thing we know too well is that the technology is not the hard part. The commitment to transparency is.
Guys, this is not the type of stuff your your government should be telling you. Podcaster, life coach, maybe even your pastor, but not your government
Pls understand this first
As usual, Sowore Reporters has been activated to deliberately misreport the story and deflect attention away from the (more serious) thing that the FBI actually admitted.
Because the FBI stated under oath that it *cannot publicly reveal why it cannot release these files,* and it can only tell the judge why via sealed oath. Which means the reason will not be on public court record. Refer to the lines underlined in red.
That is the closest thing you are going to get to a signed confession stating that the subject of this case is an active secret intelligence asset and it is above the pay grade of the Attorney General or the FBI Director to order the release of these files. It is CIA territory.
And judge Beryl Howell immediately granted the order, because of course she knows what it means to step on the CIA's tail, and she doesn't want to die of suicide by shooting herself twice in the head tomorrow morning.
They've basically all but admitted under oath that you people's president works for the Agency.
And of course, Sowore Reporters jumped in with a salacious headline to get you people talking about the wrong issue, because that is the mission given to Sowore by his owners.
Constant, never-ending misdirection.
I don't know who I pity more, myself or you people who always fall for these theatrics.
She didn’t steal. She didn’t defraud anyone. Yet EFCC has reportedly kept Maryam Shehu in detention for over 30 days after she raised corruption allegations against EFCC officials.
If she committed a crime, charge her in court. If not, release her.
An agency cannot be complainant, investigator and judge in a case involving its own officials.
Investigation is not punishment. Free Maryam Shehu.

This story is particularly sad and unfortunate. The lady here was only speaking out against corruption.. even when she is eventually released.. her punishment and illegal and injust detention is meant to serve as a warning. The very people she speak for.. we.. all of us just look on..
This is why this country won't see any fundamental change any time soon. A society will always get the leadership and outcome it deserves.
It is only fair to ask David Umahi where the ₦200 billion for the Benin–Asaba road is and why the primary route for getting food from Lagos/Ibadan through Edo, Onitsha/Enugu, Asaba, Port Harcourt and Warri has been left in poor condition, while the ₦15 trillion Lagos–Calabar Coastal Highway, which no one asked for, is prioritised.
I would prefer a Nigeria where Anambra is developed to the point where residents can get relevant jobs in their city and not bother about getting jobs in Lagos.
It all your dispositions, you have NEVER for once given or suggested a way out of the present day chaos. You never speak against the blood spilling of children, pregnant mothers and innocent men, in the spirit of tribalism and solidarity towards the Yoruba nation.
All you keep vehemently pushing forward is the supremacy of APC and BAT while hiding under a faux reality that you know Nigerians can change. Everything for you is about Tinubu being the Lion that cannot be removed from seat, while you and the misguided sheep who call themse your followers in the comments section applaud your self-satisfying indifference and reckless nonchalance and disregard for human life, just cos you know everything about Snake.
It is generally known that the opponents are lacking in coordination but if you truly GENUINELY had the interest of your country at heart, you would, while stating the fact that opponents can do better, clamour for unity amongst them with the same voice.
In the final analysis, it is only a child that sees other people as children. You are not a very intelligent person and in addition, you are a hypocrite who totally lacks empathy and regard for human life.
This is not an insult. It is just fact. Look in the mirror.
The EU has banned TPO (Trimethylbenzoyl Diphenylphosphine Oxide) - an ingredient found in gel manicures.
This ingredient is a "photoinitiator", which allows gel polish to cure under ultraviolet (UV) light to make the varnish more durable and hold its colour for longer.
Several animal studies have linked the chemical TPO to long-term fertility damage and reproductive issues.
It has just been reclassified as a Category 1B CMR (Carcinogenic, Mutagenic, or Reprotoxic) substance with reproductive implications.
