@VVulfman@Anyachi4ox Next, you’ll be telling us that Jonah really lived in a whale for 3 days, evolution can’t be true because of Genesis, women were made from Adam’s rib, and that God actually issued these absurd murder commands in the Old Testament.
@VVulfman@Anyachi4ox Clearly you’re not in touch enough with the higher part of yourself to know that such a doctrine cannot be true. Apparently, you’ll believe anything in a “book” as opposed to your own conscience. You have billions of good people burning in hell and you’re just fine with that.
@VVulfman@Anyachi4ox So then according to you, all good Buddhists like the Dali Lama are going to burn in hell for all eternity because they didn’t accept Jesus. That’s absurd and totally in conflict with an all loving God.
@Renatta Christianity doesn’t have a monopoly on truth. The exclusivity claims as to Jesus being the only way were falsely added to the New Testament and only appear in the later anonymous Gospel of John. The Jesus is the “only way” claim doesn’t appear in the other 3 earlier Gospels.
@Heavennbound To the contrary, Christianity fulfills the biggest desire of man: the desire to believe in an afterlife and think all your questions are answered for you. Religion fulfills the ultimate hedonistic desire. That’s why so many engage in the blind leap of faith.
@trad_west_ But what about all the Muslims that died for their religious beliefs that you claim are a lie? Like the ones who flew planes into the World Trade Center. Clearly, someone being willing to die for their beliefs doesn’t prove their truth. Such a dangerous martyr test!
@VVulfman@Anyachi4ox And I should add, those exclusivity claims as to Jesus being the only way were falsely added to the New Testament and really only appear in the later anonymous Gospel of John. The Jesus is the “only way” claim doesn’t appear in the other 3 earlier Gospels.
@VVulfman@Anyachi4ox The biggest shortcoming of Christianity is its claim of having a monopoly on truth. It’s absurd to argue that good Buddhists like the Dali Lama are going to burn in hell for all eternity. This is such a primitive, judgmental, and intolerant view.
@Chris_Hackney_ This may be true but all spiritual paradigms are also merely a perspective. Perhaps they are more updated and rational but they are still speculative paradigms from limited perspectives.
@RoseG121 Apparently, God can’t get rid of evil or Satan or free will. And he can’t create a universe where he/God doesn’t have to incarnate as a mortal to die for everyone’s sins. 😉😇
@ScottMessmtwmq Since Jesus was born of a virgin, he couldn’t have had a Y chromosome. So was his DNA gender neutral or did he have two XX chromosomes? 😉😇
@iamAtheistGirl Christians pick and choose from the Old Testament. With respect to the absurd decrees in the attached chart, they argue with a straight face that God gave these kill orders but somehow they’re excused because Jesus later fulfilled the law of the Old Testament. 🙄🤔
@thyflameoflove Yes, and one of the areas where free speech is being limited is with respect to critizing religion. People use the claim that it’s “hate speech” to criticize another’s religious beliefs. Of course, criticizing any belief or paradigm is constitutionally protected free speech.
@pillowscars When the authors of the Gospels relate what others said about Jesus that is hearsay. Although Paul wrote the earliest and 1/3 of the NT, he never mentions any of the miracle stories, virgin birth, etc., which indicates they were falsely added later into the Gospels.
@iamAtheistGirl My point is: rather than debate the existence of God, why not posit the existence of an afterlife without all the baggage of religion? Science has yet to be able to explain consciousness and it’s not unreasonable to posit that it survives death - with or without “God.”
@iamAtheistGirl I’m curious Atheist Girl. I get that you don’t believe in God. But do you entertain the possibility of the existence of the soul? In other words, do you think it’s possible that an aspect of us continues to exist after our physical bodies die?
@RobertLalum@ericweinstein I’ve heard him state that he practices Judaism or at least observes its holidays/traditions which implies some acceptance of a spiritual paradigm. But it would be nice for him to weigh in on his beliefs.
