@1FCKobe@CorkCityFC I’m not in a position to say that for certain, but from a business perspective the reasoning given is something that can be managed quite easily with knowledge, tools and moderation systems available today. On that basis, dropping a channel with 58k followers seems odd.
@1FCKobe@CorkCityFC Simple analogy: if you run a nightclub without a bouncer, anyone can walk in and behave however they want. Put proper security & standards in place, & the whole environment changes. That’s a management issue, you don’t shut the nightclub down. Especially not one that is an asset!
@1FCKobe@CorkCityFC I’ve worked in social media for over 15 years. Platforms allow you to manually review comments before they go live, but more advanced AI moderation tools can now automatically approve, flag, or block posts based on whatever criteria you set. Your point is still not making sense.
@betweenstripes From a business perspective, this makes no sense. AI and moderation tools can now run and filter social channels with minimal human input. Dropping a 58k follower platform in a league desperate for PR and visibility feels more short-sighted than forward thinking.
@CorkCityFC You can even set automatic filters to block offensive language and ban repeat offenders. AI tools can even handle and automate a lot of this moderation now anyway. So you don't even need a person to handle this. On that basis a really bizarre business decision here.
@CorkCityFC For a league that needs all the PR & visibility it can get, dropping a platform with 58k followers seems an odd decision. Modern Social media tools allow muting, blocking, moderation, & visibility control, surely better management is a better solution than walking away entirely?
This is the kind of analysis we should avoid: selecting isolated clips to fit a narrative. Good analysis is built on trends, patterns, and facts. Without that, it becomes storytelling.
Kicked it out of play to overload Olise?? really? No no no. This = https://t.co/73BoEgrqgf
🧠 Luis Enrique’s tactic to stop Olise:
The goalkeeper deliberately overhits goal kicks towards Bayern’s right side so Olise is constantly isolated in overloaded areas.
@MattLooks I sat in an academy development meeting with “experienced” coaches who argued a child should be released because “look at the size of his mother.” A reference to his mams weight! This is the level of thinking in parts of academy football. Should be nowhere near it!!
In my 3 years in LOI Academy football at Bohs & 2 years before it the LSL & Schoolboy section I can honestly say I never once got a yellow card as a coach. Not because I lack passion, because screaming at refs chasing results in development football just made no sense to me!
@Dunga___ Four members of my own family are referee's, from LSL to LOI football. I'd be very surprised if that's true. Never heard or seen any evidence of it. Doubt I will.
@tormey_history I don't recall any violent conduct against any of the kids, one called a another kid a homophobic name on field before but he immediately received a three month ban. Only violent conduct I recall witnessing was ironically a coach putting his head on a child.
24½ years ago. The day before England take on Greece for a place at the World Cup, David Beckham stays behind for 20 minutes after training practicing free kicks.
The next day… a similar moment, & history is made. The message is simple, but vital = You get out what you put in!!
@meldrumjambo Way too much respect given to PSG on and off the pitch. Giorgi Mamardashvili at the end of that defeat, in a game that should have been 6–0, looking to swap jerseys with his buddy Kvaratskhelia, sums up the mentality on the night. Van Dijk on the second goal! Passive fc
PSG vs Liverpool. Even if they improve in the 2nd half, the 1st was incredibly poor from Liverpool without the ball. The way they pressed & defended was one of the most passive performances I’ve ever seen from a team at that level. There wasn’t an ounce of aggression or intent.
@meldrumjambo Pressing all over the pitch in general. Watch the defending on the goal. Get close to people, tackling is not a crime! Mannequins wearing boots!!!!
@eimid_@MeathFc The point was more that literally took 3 seconds not 3 years. With 3 years I'd design Mono Lisa of crests. 3 years on a crest is absolutley insane. But well agree to disagree
@IFBMedia Anyway I'm not being disrespectful. Your opinion is your opinion. For me personally if Pat Hickey is playing for the senior Ireland International team I'll be lost for words about how the standard of senior international football will have fallen off.
