Patient being admitted for pre labor rupture of membranes induction. A prime. She just asked when she should bring her “tribe” in. Meaning, all of her extended family members.... girl, you got about 24hrs of labor ahead of you....
Okay, but the Nurse Practitioner that collaborates with our high risk patients to make care plans, hasn’t worked the floor in 20 years & it’s really evident in these care plans... time to retire maybe? #notpractical
Sometimes I stand there and picture myself in my patients situation, with all the medical conversations & interventions we are throwing at them - I would be so overwhelmed. Shoutout to all the Women who have had to go through pregnancy, labor & delivery #youdarealMVPs
Literally had a patient come in with a careplan because they reported they were “anaphylactic” to extreme tempature changes. Like we seriously couldn’t even use ice to test dermatones on the patient.... but after delivery I caught her sipping hot tea & a other questionable things
There’s nothing worse then a frequent flyer, early labor patient, whom you have to keep telling them they’re not in active labor and they keep leaving your triage crying #amithedevil
Legit overheard a Dad say to his wife, on their way back from the OR, “well at least we got one of our birth wishes” - in regards to being able to keep their placenta. Not the fact that their baby was born alive & healthy.... #smh
