20 years ago, when Arsenal played in the Champions League final, I was just a teenager, but I felt everything. I cried. I felt sick after the loss… I couldn’t even write my WAEC exam the following day. That’s how much it meant.
Now, 20 years later, I’m in a better place, Arsenal are back in the Champions League final. Same club, same love… but a different ending awaits. This feels poetic. This feels like destiny.
This time, it ends in victory. I love this club ❤️.
@ibomairlines will change your flights without any notice, Tell us that our luggages cant come on the flight that it will get to our destination 24hrs after we arrive then still delay the flight again for over 2hrs.
No Apologies, No remorse. 😭
@followlastma But can we even get an explanation as to why we cant see any of the work men on sight. The things our government officials put us through is really heartbreaking
This unfortunate story may seem like what should happen in a Nollywood movie.
But it is 100% accurate.
@qatarairways has blatantly refused to address the injustice done to Gideon Ezeh.
Mr. Ezeh was on his way to the United States to visit his wife who is a PhD candidate in the US.
Ezeh was also carrying a hairdressing mannequin head - purchased as a gift and act of love for his wife who had expressed difficulty braiding her hair.
He first purchased it to learn hair braiding and to assist her with it during his visit, and he carried it as an additional gift to her, so she could practise braiding in his absence.
WhatsApp messages between the couple dated April 21, 2025, and TikTok hair tutorial videos downloaded by Mr. Ezeh on April 24, 2025, fully corroborate this innocent and deeply personal purpose.
There was nothing criminal, suspicious, or irregular about Mr. Ezeh's travel. He was a loving husband flying to support his wife.
On May 7th, 2025, while transiting through Hamad International Airport, Qatar, with Qatar Airways, he was detained following suspicion that decorative stones contained within the mannequin might contain narcotics.
He cooperated fully with authorities and complied with every investigative procedure requested of him.
Importantly, the initial airport field tests reportedly returned negative results for narcotics. Despite this, he was detained and imprisoned for approximately six weeks while forensic analysis was conducted.
At the conclusion of this analysis, the competent forensic laboratory determined that the stones were benign and contained no narcotic substances. The Public Prosecution subsequently dismissed the case.
While the dismissal confirmed his innocence, the damage caused by the incident has been profound and continues to this day.
For six weeks, he was deprived of his liberty, subjected to immense psychological distress, and treated as a suspected narcotics trafficker despite the absence of confirmed evidence. The stigma associated with such allegations is severe and has followed us long after the investigation concluded.
The consequences have extended far beyond the time in detention.
As a direct result of the allegation, the United States visas of Ezeh and his wife were revoked, and their names were flagged in international travel databases in a manner associated with narcotics trafficking.
These actions have had devastating personal and professional consequences.
Despite the dismissal of the case, the authorities involved have refused to release the forensic laboratory report confirming the benign nature of the stones. This refusal is deeply troubling.
The report is the most critical piece of evidence needed to restore our reputations and correct the record internationally, particularly with immigration authorities who continue to rely on the existence of the original allegation.
Denying access to exculpatory evidence leaves the couple in an impossible position where innocence has been acknowledged internally but cannot be demonstrated externally.
In addition, Mr. Ezeh was subjected to a ban by Qatar Airways based on an undefined claim of “unacceptable conduct.” This ban was later quietly lifted without explanation, apology, or clarification. The lack of transparency surrounding this action has further damaged his reputation and caused significant distress.
Davido’s dad is his greatest regulator. Whoever he is now, whatever he becomes, his greatest blessing is that he is not his family’s breadwinner. Because that sort of power, for someone who became a millionaire$ before 20, is risky.
He became rich and famous. Luckily for him, he never became the most powerful person in his own life. It’s a blessing not to be, for him and all of us who aren’t.
