Hace unas semanas los gringos estaban en la Roma y la Condesa grabando historias diciendo “I love Mexicoooou”, matcha en mano, el antojito de la señora que hicieron viral en TikTok, recomendándole a medio mundo que se viniera a “vivir la experiencia”.

Hoy, cuando la realidad irrumpe y deja de parecer postal, todo es pánico, lágrimas en inglés y hasta llamando a la intervención de Estados Unidos, hazme el chingado favor. Resulta que el amor era condicional. No amaban a México, amaban la versión aesthetic que ellos mismos se inventaron.

¿Aman México? Entonces asúmanlo por completo. También somos violencia, desigualdad y las consecuencias históricas que ellos pueden esquivar comprando un boleto de regreso. Porque mientras algunos convierten el país en contenido y luego huyen cuando se complica, nosotros nos quedamos. Nos quedamos con las secuelas, con la precariedad y, sí, también con los efectos de un mercado de armas que cruza la frontera desde su país hacia el narco dentro del nuestro.
