Head of Music constantly looking for new ways to teach creatively trying to find time to go to the ocean, do photography, crafty stuff and watch Muse - again!
So this happened😱🏴🤝
An unexpected visit to the ‘queue’ as we reach around 12 hours with 2 to go. So glad I went, what a day.Made even better by talking to some lovely people. The hall atmosphere was incredible, sad, respectful.Canadian prime minister and guard changed.
"My friends, colleagues and I have signed this letter calling for action from the government to save music education. Read our letter and share this post with your followers (tagging @Keir_Starmer) to help us protect and grow music education in and out of schools. https://t.co/DGuGg7T0Ne
We are at a critical point: a future of no music in state schools, no music teachers to teach, broken instruments and no grassroots venues. As a young music student and aspiring artist, I benefited from opportunities in and out of school to learn & grow. Unfortunately, after decades of defunding and de-prioritising, music is no longer a right for all children - it’s a luxury for only a few. Music is key to the UK economy, wellbeing & mental health, communities and young people’s dreams. Talent is everywhere across the UK - I saw it when I visited cities across England, Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales. But not all young people have the same opportunities – and we want to change that" - Ed x
The Richard Dimbleby lecture from @GarethSouthgate is brilliant! Form time sorted for a couple of days. So many discussion points for both boys and girls! Catch up on @BBCiPlayer
What is success-challenging question
I’ve no idea why, maybe the fact there is so much hate and violence, maybe my age or the fact my heart is too big, but this made me cry. Small acts of human kindness.
It is day 1 today - 3 hours sleep and a 6am flight #Olympic2024#4for44
Great atmosphere but have to be a kiwi as no GBR team. I’m already forgetting what day I’m on😊🤣🥇🥈🥉There are even disco goal posts!!
@londonteacher_ Set up devices, join queue, buy tickets!! Do it. If you never buy them in a lesson, we would never be able to go anywhere! It’s music research anyway.....🤣good luck!

What a privilege to be a music educator; the music today affirms the #powerofmusic - such a triumph for all the musicians involved. https://t.co/bIk7uiFvgh
No-one watching the Queen's funeral can fail to have been moved by the power of #music and the skill of the performers and composers.
Can we now please stop treating music as an optional extra in UK music education?
