Safety car let's you drive further safely than a red flag, so it's always preferred. Going on a long drive is boring sometimes, but it's not like we had anything else scheduled for between 2 and 6 am.

I think F1 should be like @24hoursoflemons where the organizers can buy your car for $500 if they think it looks too fancy, so Red Bull should be forced to sell the designs and parts for their car to the FIA for $145M, and then Andretti or Audi or whoever can buy them.

@CharmStrange9 @specutainment @tim__gray I don't have time, but I'd love to run an F1 journalism website that just refuses to acknowledge that all the F1 races are Grand Prix. The other races would still exist and be reported on, but as though they're just optional non-championship one-offs or other short local series.

@kukuc1 @JimmyBroadbent Its supposed to look old-timey because Goodwood is only used for historic racing. I think it used to be an actual legit brick wall back when the track was used for contemporary racing, but thankfully they've had the sense to replace it with a flimsy bit of plastic now.

In Code 60 there's time to gain and lose from precise driving and strategy calls to be made immediately, so focus is not always on potential hazards. IMSA FCY gives one lap to just cruise past the incident with nothing to gain, which makes it safer?

@VincentJBruins @WestphalRacing I muted the broadcast during the red flag, did penalties get called for this? Obvious penalty to me, but then I thought the same about the Montonya/Deletraz pit wall incident. This wasn't much worse driving; just worse consequences because three cars were involved.

I strongly dislike the interviews with #Formula1 drivers on the drivers parade. The media get access to them all weekend, but this is the only chance the general admission fans to interact with the drivers before the race. More waving, less interviewing, plz.

@peterg010853 The thing is that Monaco was loved and preserved because it was weird and unique, but as we add more tracks like Baku, Singapore, Vegas, it makes it seem like just the least raceable of a selection of funky street courses in cool locations.
