I was thinking about what an amazing game Outer Wilds (2019) is, one that I will continue to recommend for the rest of my life.
A true sci-fi gem, which encourages curiosity and exploration. A twilight story that hits the nail on the head.
A game by @Mobius_Games & @A_i
@professor_dave He had good taste! DS9 has more heart and soul than other Trek, with diverse characters in imperfect situations working together. Also fun and with the best baddies and actual story arcs. I hope you might enjoy it!
I get daily emails from readers whose entire life is held back by the immigration office. They can't get an appointment and they can't reach anyone. Now even email applications get bounced. Some lose their jobs and leave the country before they even start. What a sad situation...
@FAIRTIQ just read the email that the trial is ending in Berlin. Very disappointed about that, you have really a great and convenient app! Much better than the BVG's own offerings.
@ElizSchumacher ๐ฎ I didn't know that, I really thought it was like $2 min or something ridiculous. $15 in CA is almost ok. I did read that employers try to count tips as wage, dunno how true that is.
France seems to have it right. UK is going like US.
Thanks for the insights.
@ElizSchumacher I just picked a min wage that was conveniently available given the US has none. I didn't know the cost of living is hugely different and I thought tipping % was same in cities and countryside.
I'm against tipping for the reasons you describe and hate the necessity in the US.
@ElizSchumacher If realistically "chilling for hours" = 4 or 5 hours, then the 10% tip equates to ~$16 per hour for just *one table*. Way above minimum wage in Germany. Perhaps I'm missing something here but it seems fair.
@Westpac hello, I appear to be getting legitimate emails from you for one of your customers with the same name as me. Do you not have a duty to verify the correct ownership of email addresses?
@blangry @_phzn @techforevil@mrchrisadams Tricky! The one I would have recommended is "temporarily closed". I suspect this one might have the same staff and fit the bill:
La BarBer Queer

It's funnily next to my old barber, who's great and speaks English - Shagi's, if you have short hair!
@ElodesNL I'd be remiss if I didn't suggest The Outer Wilds as a modern game ticking these boxes. More exploration than puzzles but an utterly immersive game with a consistent internal world.
@Pinboard@bobbyjackdotme You can have the best of both if your authenticator app lets you backup or sync the TOTP seeds. I used to use Authy, but it's pretty terrible for what it does. 2FAS is a fantastic, polished, app that gives full control over tokens. https://t.co/IrMefk1sRV
@Eurostar hi, there's a bug on your booking page. I'm unable to proceed with my 10 digit German mobile number as it declares it invalid. If I remove the "1" at the start then it validates.
@bctallis 8 years here. All standard stuff for Berlin. Never get an apology. I think most boils down to a "not my responsibility" principle culture.
I've learnt there's literally no question too stupid to ask. Ordered a fridge? Check they won't just leave it on the pavement.
@derJamesJackson@trent_murray I'd love to know how there are so many Apothekes in existence. There are at least 8 within 10 mins by foot from me. Three are even simultaneously visible. How are these businesses surviving? Apart from by selling useless natural and homeopathic products at high prices, I mean.
