Allow me to pray for you this morning before you leave the house.
Heavenly Father, in the mighty name of Jesus, I commit everyone reading this prayer into Your loving hands.
As they step out of their homes today, go before them and make every crooked path straight. Let Your favor surround them like a shield, and may Your angels watch over them wherever they go.
I pray that every trap of the enemy set against them will be destroyed. Every accident, every evil plan, every disappointment, every sickness, and every weapon formed against them shall not prosper in the name of Jesus.
Lord, open doors that no man can shut. Let divine opportunities locate them today. May they find favor in their workplaces, businesses, schools, interviews, meetings, and everywhere their feet shall tread.
I pray that You provide for every need. Let those who are trusting You for financial breakthrough, healing, restoration, employment, peace, and answers to prayer receive divine intervention.
May fear, anxiety, and discouragement leave them. Fill their hearts with Your peace, strength, and joy. Let this day bring good news, unexpected blessings, and testimonies that will glorify Your name.
No member of their family shall receive bad news today. Preserve their lives, protect their loved ones, and bring them back home safely.
Father, let Your presence be with them from morning until night. May Your goodness and mercy follow them throughout this day.
In Jesus' mighty name, Amen.
Exponential increase in revenue with excessive borrowing: Yet more hardship for Nigerians!
In celebrating three years of his administration, President Bola Tinubu included, among his achievements, an increase in revenue from N16.8 trillion in 2022 to N35 trillion in 2025. An increase of over 100%.
Shockingly, while Nigerians expected a reduction in borrowing with the exponential increase in revenue, the opposite is the case. In just three years, President Bola Tinubu’s government seems to be obsessed with excessive and imprudent borrowing, with our total debt currently about N200 trillion—a deeply disturbing increase of over N100 trillion.
In addition to the exponential increases in both revenue and debt, it is also important to note that Nigeria has earned far more than the budget revenue targets due to global and regional geoeconomic and political tensions.
Alarmingly, even with the astronomical increase in both revenue and debt, almost all key socio-economic and governance indicators are worse than in 2023. Multi-dimensional poverty has increased from 87 million people in 2023 to over 140 million people in 2025. Rapidly increasing unemployment and a decline in GDP per capita from $1,597 in 2023 to $1,223 in 2025, and the list goes on.
Just more and more hardship for Nigerians! The question Nigerians and even the international community are asking is, “Where did all the money go?”
Nigerians deserve a detailed and transparent explanation of what happened to our economy and financial resources since 2023, and a stop to the imprudent, unaccountable, and opaque management of our common patrimony.
A new and productive Nigeria is POssible, and Nigeria will be OK! -PO
It has been reported that Governor Alex Oti of Abia State has named the Umuahia Bus Terminal in Abia State after Prof Mrs Nnenna Oti, the returning officer of the Governorship election of Abia State in the 2023, through which Gov Alex Otti became Governor of Abia State. Be it noted that Prof Oti and Dr Alex Otti are not related from my understanding. So the decision of Prof Oti not to allow herself to be compromised was not based on any percuniary interests.
Now electoral integrity is the cornerstone of democratic growth and development. Going by Dr Alex Otti wonderfull performance as Governor of Abia State, Abians must be grateful to Prof Nnenna Oti's uncompromising principle not to compromise electoral processes that brought Dr Alex Otti to power in Abia State.
I am not from Abia and I am not spokes person of Abia State. That said I am a Nigerian who believes in uncompromising integrity and honesty of purpose for the greatest good of the vast majority of Nigerians. I equally belives that good govenance is the governance that produces results that are visible for all to see. It is a notorious fact that Dr Alex Otti has done marvelously well so far that he does not need to campaign for his return to power in 2027.
I have always said that any government that struggles to advertise its achievements on the pages of newspapers and electronic media with pictorial evidence is a failed govenment. Governamental successes are visible, permanent and enduring for ordinary people to see. The successes of Dr Alex Otti as governor of Abia State are visible even to the blind. The deaf can hear it and feel it.
The production of Dr Alex Otti as Governor of Abia State in 2023 was made possible by the uncompromising refusal of Prof Nnenna Oti, not to compromise the integrity of that election. She did not give in to threats and intimidations to announce fake results as many would have done. She did not compromise integrity and truth for temporary gains. She was firm and stood her grounds.
There are many Dr Alex Ottis that were not allowed to assume power in government houses in may states in Nigeria because of crooked and corrupt infested professors who for a pot of porridge subverted the will of the people and impossed on Nigerians many unproductive governors whose only stock in trade in governance is to steal and destroy the future of Nigerians for their selfish reasons.
When Prof Attahiru Jega introduced the concept of professors as returniting officers in our electoral processes, it was reasoned rightly in my view that these professors will add colour to electoral integrity and will not announced concocted results. But the realitities on ground suggest otherwise. Many of these professors turned blind eyes to electoral malfeasances and announced results that we not based on real outcome of the decisions of the people.
As one writer on social media platform rightly put it: "Mrs Oti is a shining example of what an academic should be in character. The Nigerian university system has produced in great number, men and women who bear the title of professor but are not better than motor park urchins in character: all they need to change election results or accept doctored results is money. Indeed, some of them are in prison for this while some are in prison for raping girls. What a shame.Imagine the difference wrought in Abia for the singular reason that Mrs Oti resisted election riggers! It shows Nigeria's potential may have been imprisoned by Nigerian professors who take peanuts and rig elections for crooked politicians. people".
What else can I add than to thank and congratulate Prof Mrs Nnenna Oti for standing tall where other professors fell flat at the sight of Naira and Dollars. Dr Alex Otti thank you too for recognising integrity. Nigeria will only be better if integrity, honesty and truth become the guiding principle of those entrusted with public duties as done by Prof Nnenna Oti. God bless Prof Oti. Dr Alex Otti thank you.
A standard Rolex has about 200 moving parts. The Patek Philippe on Jay-Z's wrist at the Met Gala has 1,580. Patek spent 8 years designing it. Then over 100,000 hours building the first one. About 11 straight years of someone working 24 hours a day, no breaks.
It's called the Grandmaster Chime, the most complicated wristwatch Patek has ever made. The inner mechanism alone has 1,366 parts. It fits in a circle smaller than an Oreo cookie. The outer case adds another 214 parts, and the case alone took four years to design.
In watchmaking, a "complication" is just any function beyond telling you the time. Most watches in the "grand complication" category have 5 to 7. This one has 20. When it launched, no wristwatch in history had combined that many. It tracks the phase of the moon, accurate to one day's drift over 122 years. It also has five different ways to chime: one that automatically rings the hours and quarters, one that rings only the quarters, one you press a button to hear the current time, one that rings whatever alarm time you set, and one that chimes today's date on demand. The last two had never existed in any watch before. Both were invented by Patek's own president, Thierry Stern, a trained watchmaker himself.
The chiming makes this watch nearly impossible to copy. Inside each one are tiny coiled steel wires called gongs. A single watchmaker shapes and tunes each gong by hand, testing every note with their own ears. Just putting one chime mechanism together takes 200 to 300 hours. Then the watch goes into a soundproof chamber where the chime gets recorded and compared against decades of past Patek chimes. Only then is it brought to Thierry Stern. He listens. If he doesn't like the sound, the watch goes back. Sometimes more than once. A rejected watch can take 500 hours of rebuilding before he approves it.
This watch holds four power springs in total. One is dedicated to the chimes alone, separate from the spring driving the time. Inside the mechanism is a ball bearing 7.2mm wide. It holds seven steel balls, each 0.3mm across, smaller than grains of fine sand. They handle 1,700 gram-millimetres of twisting force from the chime springs without slipping. The case has 11 holes drilled through it for buttons and pushers, and somehow none of them ruin the chamber that lets the chimes ring out clearly. The case itself flips around to show either of its two different dials.
Fewer than five workshops on the planet can build something at this level. Patek Philippe is the one all the others measure themselves against.
Jay-Z's version lists at $6.5 million. The unique steel version sold for $31 million at Christie's in 2019. It still holds the record for the most expensive watch ever sold at auction.
