@larzmarshall 13 years ago our cruise had a game called “Majority Rules”. Correct answer was whatever the most people said.
A question was “Who’s the best looking man in the world”. Our Caribbean cruise, answer was Channing Tatum. 2 weeks before - Alaskan cruise - answer was Sean Connery.
@OncoAdvocate@adamgorney Based on that logic Michigan should have been in. They had a better win than any other team - at Ohio State. Since their bad losses don’t matter and they have higher ranked recruits than Indiana & SMU, it’s disappointing the committee didn’t let them in.
@larzmarshall I’d take that. Of course, after a 1-11 season giving up 66 to 2 different in state rivals, I’d also be willing to listen what you bring to the table, Larz.
@cobrastats@BoilerUniforms That’s probably not as weird as it initially sounds. If you look at most of those games, they shot a low number of FT’s - which makes it easier to make them all. But shooting a low number of FT’s is generally not a recipe for success. 20-20 today is the anomaly.
@tjanderson12@VPsalesBD @PU_Milestones Last 10 tournaments (all B1G teams)
Mich: 23-8
MSU: 18-10
Wisc: 15-8
Pur: 9-8
OSU: 7-7
Md: 6-6
Ind: 6-5
Iowa: 4-7
Ill: 3-4
Minn: 2-3
NW: 2-2
Rut: 1-2
PSU: 1-1
Neb: 0-1
Since no B1G team has won the tourney, losses reflect # of tourneys made in the last 10 played (2013-23).
@ehensleycpa@DePauw_MBB 😂 😂. I did the same thing my son’s last year of baseball. Most of the teams in his conference posted their schedule before his did. I had the whole conference schedule lined up before his team posted his.
Putting that FC education to good use, sir!
@BeasonMark @mattmclain_@Reds@TommyThrall I’m seeing his name (along with de la Cruz), mentioned, but the consensus seems to be that Corbin Carroll of the D-backs pretty much has it locked up.
@DSebass32@immaculategrid@baseball_ref Having Cubs on there probably helps you. I’m generally much better at the accomplishment categories than the team ones. I blame @b_odom3 for getting me hooked on this.
@kerba1123@BoilerUniforms Meaning Painter has zero true upsets while suffering 5.
Keady had 1 true upset while suffering 4 (2x in R1 as a 6 seed - although 1 was a true road game at LSU. 2x in R2 as a 1 or 2 seed).
Purdue has been involved in 10 upsets since 1981. It’s 1-9 in those games.
@kerba1123@BoilerUniforms By comparison, Keady had 10 upset losses (seed diff > 1) but only 2 greater than 5 (2nd Rd ‘90 & ‘96)
Lost 3x in Rd 1 as a 6/7
Lost 3x in Rd 2 as a 3
He had 3 upset wins, all late in career (99 as 10 seed v. 7 Texas & 2 Miami; ‘00 as 6 seed v. 3 Okla)
11 was worst loss by seed
@kerba1123@BoilerUniforms Not much of an upset if the seed lines are consecutive. Takes away 3 of the 4 upset wins (leaving only the 2012 win over St. Mary’s in a 10-7 matchup- also not a huge upset).
But it only eliminates one of the upset losses (TTech in 2018 as a 2-3). 5 losses with seed diff +/- 7.
