Bye everyone!

#studenttakeover Cultural differences b/w the US and Hungary: university edition!
1. Pécs is much more spread out across the city than universities in the US
2. Bookstores aren't really a thing like they are in the US
3. Printing office rather than self printing!

What are some cultural differences between the U.S. and Hungary? 🧊💶📆 My top ones are: 1) water is not free at restaurants and rarely has ice cubes and 2) few air conditioners, even in the dorms!

#studenttakeover Let's talk about summer weather in Hungary! ☀️⛱️😎
One word to describe this past summer? HOT 🥵 Hungary's 2022 summer was the hottest in 121 years, a trend similar in most of Europe. In Pécs temperatures would consistently stay above 86 F!
🏊Sophie
#studenttakeover How's the winter weather been in Pécs? 🌨️❄️☃️
Winter has just begun, so it hasn't gotten too cold yet! So far the daily temperature is between 35-45 degrees (F 😁) I've been assured that it generally gets colder and snows later in the winter!

#studenttakeover My favorite hobby in Pécs: going to the theater! Check out https://t.co/Sxy8ODfh7p and https://t.co/n5hvJuQoRI, the two biggest theater venues in Pécs! Musicals, plays, ballets, and concerts of any kind--Hungary has it all!
🌞Sophie
#studenttakeover One of the best hobbies to have in Pécs: hiking! 🥾 Pécs is bordered by the Mecsek Hills to the northwest, making it a great location for hiking! The most iconic hike in Pécs leads up to the Pécs TV tower, which is the tallest building in Hungary 🗼

🦄Sophie
#studenttakeover What kind of holidays might you celebrate while studying abroad in Hungary? Here's one: St. Stephen's Day on August 20th! Budapest holds tons of performances and programs to celebrate the first Christian king of Hungary--see below!

You can of course also fly from Budapest anywhere in Europe as well!

#studenttakeover What are the best options for getting around Hungary and Pécs? For travelling between cities, the train or bus is best! In Pécs, you can easily get around by bus also, although I've found it easy to walk everywhere! Students get discounts also! 🚌
