Arguably one never has a choice. We're always just doing some combination of what we want most and what we want now, depending on our state of mind, leading to a feeling for what we think is best given the circumstances, and then we do that

Consider this. A trans woman is beginning to practice a more feminine sounding voice. But she is embarrassed to use it around others. So already there is embarrassment. I'm just suggesting as a cognitive trick, that you flip the embarrassment to benefit you.
Is Christianity (and others) a system of oppression? "You are born a sinner, repent!" And the anti-queer dogma. What were the true intents of the original authors of the religious texts? Salvation, or control? Should we allow systems of oppression to legally operate in our world?
