From The European Parliament Magazine:
Srivastava, for his part, has said he reported suspected sanctions breaches to Switzerland’s State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO), describing this as the responsible action of a partner unwilling to be drawn into illicit activity. He maintains that the episode has caused him significant reputational and financial damage, while Troost now faces severe restrictions on his ability to operate in international markets as a result of sanctions.

Niels Troost’s own lawsuit, as reported today by @thomas_m_wilson closes the lid on this case.
Troost admits he knew trading Russian oil above the price cap required a license (“but that has to be approved with a license, obviously” Troost replies, to which Srivastava responds "yes"), yet he traded without one anyway ("Troost has said that he only continued trading with Russia after the price cap was introduced because he believed Srivastava’s involvement meant the company had the support of the US government.").
His words, black on white, in an official court filing, not mine. Everything else is noise.
Niels Troost is a savvy, sophisticated 30-year veteran of the Russian oil trade - he knew exactly what he was doing.
That is why Troost has been sanctioned by the 27 European Union Member States, the United Kingdom, Switzerland and Monaco, and this is why he should also be sanctioned by the US.

There is no better poster boy for "the swamp" than Ankit Desai. He - a former Biden aide turned lobbyist - takes money from some of America's worst adversaries and injects it into Washington to influence American foreign policy.
Niels Troost paid Ankit Desai $100,000 during the Biden Administration to keep him from being sanctioned for trading illicit Russian oil in violation of sanctions and the price cap. Troost has been sanctioned by the EU, UK and Switzerland - but not by the US. @realDonaldTrump - drain the swamp!
"... despite the exhaustive narrative he spins, Wilson utterly fails to address the issue that lies at the very core of this story: Why would a thirty-year veteran of the Russian oil trade — a man who’s built his career navigating some of the world’s most heavily sanctioned and tightly regulated markets, from Russian crude to the "Oil for Food" program in Iraq — have believed he could continue trading sanctioned Russian oil under an "OFAC license" supposedly obtained through a secret CIA program, without ever once setting eyes on such a license, without ever stepping foot in a CIA, OFAC, or U.S. Treasury office, and without meeting a single official from any of these authorities?
This is the suspension of disbelief that Wilson demands from his readers. Troost's claim — that he simply took the word of a newly introduced business partner (myself), without documentation, verification, or even the most basic due diligence — is laughable. Yet Wilson does not meaningfully interrogate this glaring implausibility."
7 months ago today @thomas_m_wilson pinned a long thread on his story on Niels Troost to the top of his X feed, and it is still pinned up there.
In the interim, Troost has been slapped with additional sanctions by the EU, Switzerland and Monaco (on top of the sanctions the UK had already imposed at the time of writing his story) - perhaps providing Tom with a definitive answer to his question "Was he [Troost] a major player in Putin’s war machine"? I have written more extensively about Tom's reporting on this matter here - alternatively check out a short excerpt below: https://t.co/6cNExRU9bv
Who do Gaurav Srivastava and @laralogan describe as
"Giant funnels of foreign money, walking FARA violations full of spies and ultimately - foreign influence operations. They don't worry too much about solving poverty, hunger or endangered animals - only buying a guilt-free free-pass."

So important - thanks @laralogan for this special report and calling attention to this crisis.
Having lived through the LA fires just a few months ago and seeing my neighborhood of Palisades decimated I have tremendous sympathy and empathy for the victims!
My prayers for the victims and with emergency personnel who risk their lives to save others.
Oil prices are down Thursday with news of President Trump slapping tariffs on Brazil. Businessman Gaurav Srivastava explains the geopolitical role of oil—and how it’s “being used as an intelligence tool.”

Indian courts have ruled that the pay-to-play articles placed in Indian media against me were defamatory and forced media outlets and search engines to remove them.
These are the very same articles later used to seed the Wikipedia attack page against me as well as the @ProjectBrazen story, which served as a bridge to graduate the disinformation campaign to mainstream media.
