ਅੱਜ ਦੇ ਦਿਨ, 23 ਅਗਸਤ 2005 ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਡਾ. ਮਨਮੋਹਨ ਸਿੰਘ ਜੀ ਦੀ ਅਗਵਾਈ ਵਾਲੀ ਕਾਂਗਰਸ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਨੇ ਇਤਿਹਾਸਕ #MGNREGA ਕਾਨੂੰਨ ਪਾਸ ਕਰਕੇ ਦੇਸ਼ ਦੇ ਪੇਂਡੂ ਨਾਗਰਿਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ‘ਕੰਮ ਦੇ ਅਧਿਕਾਰ’ ਦੀ ਗਾਰੰਟੀ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਸੀ।

On 23 August 2005, @INCIndia Government under Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh Ji passed the historic MGNREGA Act, guaranteeing rural citizens the right to work-a landmark step towards social justice and employment.

@BJP4India Government has now moved to dismantle this historic legislation, taking away the employment rights of rural workers. In Punjab, @AamAadmiParty Government has aided this agenda by moving in the same direction instead of defending #MGNREGA.
