@FUCKlNGUSERNAME -- to look up at him.
Instead, she brushed her hair locks behind ears and sighed grabbing the empty cup off the kitchen table.
"I'm.. Shall I make tea for you? With.. with honey or mint?"
/Dad/.
Chloe looked up at him timidly and smiled sheepishly.
@FUCKlNGUSERNAME -- Chloe exhaled heavily and rubbed her forehead with her hand.
She admitted that she was curious about Hank's family. Wife. Children. But Chloe knew that asking him would be inappropriate.
"I'm sorry if I said something wrong, I--I.. I am sorry."
Chloe now was scared --
@FUCKlNGUSERNAME Chloe was looking down at her fingers: playing with her nails worriedly, her shoulders were trembling invisibly.
../A glance/. Moving her eyes up at Hank, a small shadow of fair hope projected over her face.
"Honestly, I.. I think you'd be a great dad."
--
@DeviantTracker -- which was the gesture of her warm emotions for him. Chloe gave him a smile when suddenly she frowned again.
"I--I mean, I don't want to bother you, or.. uh.. annoy you somehow.."
"..Hello, Connor. It's been a while."
Two weeks of her vacation have already passed like a split second. Patiently, she was standing in front of @DeviantTracker with her fingers laced behind her back. She couldn't help but smile widely revealing a tiny chuckle after that.
@DeviantTracker Chloe's eyebrows melancholically frowned for a slight moment: her face features got dark and she parted her lips. The feeling of upcoming guilty fulfilled her chest that moment when suddenly..
"--So, may I.. assist you today?"
Her eyes shined with a cheerful hope--
@ColdBrilliance -- all the things around her didn't matter at all.
"I still remember everything. All the good things you've done for me."
She chuckled sadly as her upper lip trembled in a sad smile, when her hand moved up to wipe another tear away.
Wearing the dark blue police uniform, Chloe went out of the car and looked in front of her. Her auburn eyes glanced at the mansion right under her frowned eyebrows. She checked on her police hat and took a deep breath: /she was worried/.
Closing the door of the car loudly--
@ColdBrilliance "I thought you've forgotten me."
Chloe's eyes shut, she wasn't sure if it was a good decision to hug him but.. she wanted to do it so badly.
She forgot about all this time she was away: it all seemed like the return into past, where she was next to her owner and--
@ColdBrilliance -- tears fall down.
/Of course/ she was thankful to Elijah. /Of course/ she was angry but.. /of course/ he was the one who always was next to her before her decision was made.
"You don't even know how much I've missed you."
She sniffed her nose and exhaled quietly.
@ColdBrilliance Chloe clenched her fist and locked her gaze, full of tears, at Elijah: she wanted to slap his face as hard as it was possible, but..
" . . . "
..Instead, she made a quick step in front her, and hugged him. Revealing a trembling whimper, she shut her eyes and let her--
@ColdBrilliance -- and now headed to him with the quick firm gait.
"..But /what/ did you do for returning me? Huh? What did /you/ do for getting me back?!"
A tear went down her cheek smoothly, while she lifted her forefinger up and pressed it to his chest.
@ColdBrilliance -- She felt her breast move up and down faster: her stress level increased, indeed.
With her mouth open, she nodded, strictly giving him a teary look.
"..I've missed you, Elijah! You don't even know how many times I wanted to come back to you!"
She sniffed her nose and--
@ColdBrilliance "..--You /know/ you could stop me! You knew me better than anyone, didn't you? Elijah?.."
She actually interrupted his words with her voice which sounded louder now. Chloe made another /firm/ step towards him locking her questioned eyes upon his face.
--
@ColdBrilliance -- This place gave her too many memories. The memories she would never forget.
"..You could have stopped me. You /could/. But.. you didn't."
Surprising for her, Chloe's offended voice sounded quiet now, while she was shaking her head slowly.
@ColdBrilliance Chloe's heart sank: his words sounded cold and firm, just as a sharp blade for the delicate skin. But of course she knew it was just.. a mask?
"I can't disagree. /Elijah/."
She moved her eyes up at him and blinked feeling her eyes getting wet, as she frowned slightly.
--
@ColdBrilliance -- was insightful enough, he then of course would notice her hesitation.
She still had her eyes over him: only now she felt guilty for changing the colour of her eyes.
"You.. You /know/ I'm here not because I'm staying."
Chloe made a step towards him and gulped--
@ColdBrilliance . . .I m i s s e d y o u. . .
The words she felt, but.. didn't say aloud. She didn't want to admit it but.. she /did/ miss him a lot. His wise words, caring touches and the quiet velvet tone of his voice.
Chloe pretended to be strong, but if Elijah--
@ColdBrilliance --arms were hanging along her sides calmly.
She was still worried though. The only thing that calmed her down a bit was the /distance/ between them.
...But Chloe was scared that Elijah would decide to walk up to her. Just like he used to do when she owned her.
@ColdBrilliance -- she agreed with him. When she headed to his mansion, Chloe strongly decided not to show him any at least slight shadow of her hesitation.
It was a game now. A game where two people were sure about their decisions. Chloe stared into his eyes not looking away, while her--
@ColdBrilliance Chloe shut her eyes, exhaling: she heard his voice behind her. The voice that would never be changed.
"..Elijah."
She turned to him facing the same cold features of his calm face: Elijah didn't change at all.
"You are completely right."
Chloe didn't like the fact--
