@I_Am_Discontent @AndrewBowie_MP Norways oil industry is booming though because they drill everything ours is dying because we aren't allowed. We could use the tax revenue to fund renewable projects as opposed to it being added to our bills for example?

@I_Am_Discontent @AndrewBowie_MP Owning it wouldnt make a difference. Norway still sells its oil on the international markets. Our government did not differentiate between oil money and general taxation. Norway did hence the big pot. We could be doing what Norway doing now but we dont.

@I_Am_Discontent @AndrewBowie_MP You want to renationalise oil fields holding billions of barrels of oil? Good luck finding money for that. Britain got good times out of not doing what norway did. Norway put their money to the side and maintained high taxes, we reduced ours due to of it. Hindsight and all that.

@I_Am_Discontent @AndrewBowie_MP The tax is charged at 78% of profit from oil out the north sea. The exact same as Norway. Apart from the government does not have to absorb any losses like Norway does.

@GregClinker @AndrewBowie_MP It will however reduce large amounts of tax revenue which could be used to fund renewable projects which could remove it from our bills. And gas production does reduce requirement for imports actually

@I_Am_Discontent @AndrewBowie_MP Oil is exported if required (tax revenue however is paid to the HMRC, something we dont get from imports - therefore a positive to the economy) and gas produced goes to the grid. It isnt exported.

@BM9MF @TheGifMaster_G @RangersFC Cant just keep blaming the manager and changing every few months. The last time a manager lasted more than a season was 2021 that is embarrassing. We have had some decent quality managers in too, unfortunately they just need time.

@elddyrkn1 @oli_tatty Yeah there southern sector which contains a few gas fields. The vast majority of the oil in the North Sea lies north of Dundee to north of Shetland. Which would be scottish territory in the event of a split. Its nowhere near England.
