It is deeply distressing that Karim, his elderly mum, and the families of the deceased — who simply asked for the handprints and the “Allah Akbar” inscription to be preserved, as was clearly undertaken — have had to go to court to stop meaningful elements of the disaster site being demolished. There is no trust in the @GrenfellTowerMC or the Department @mhclg when bereaved families must fight publicly just to be heard. "This is not a memorial for us" . "They took our kin. They took away justice. Now they want to sanitise the reality and charge the public providing a blank cheque for a Memorial that is not for us. “not in our names.” Our loss is not a commodity. Stop riding roughshod over grieving families.
