Former Rockstar developer Mike York talks about how he feels the range of facial animations in the GTA 6 extended look seems a bit limited.
He specifically mentions that he feels a lot of Jason’s facial animations are a bit flat and stale.
As far as faces go, this is without a doubt the best I have ever seen in a video game.
And I’d never really thought about it until watching Mike’s video.
Do you think he has a point and how do you feel about the facial animations?
NEW OFFICIAL GTA 6 INFO (VIA @Dazed)
• The world is way more reactive than before.. NPCs will actually react to what you're doing, like if you casually walk around the city holding a rifle
• Jason & Lucia can either stay together as a couple or split up and do their own thing around the map
• Eating affects Jason & Lucia's weight, so their bodies can physically change depending on how much and what you eat
• Working out can actually build and tone their muscles & exercising will visibly change their bodies over time
• Jason & Lucia have a deeper relationship system where your choices can actually affect their relationship, with bigger consequences than RDR2's Honor system
• Character switching is much more fluid.. You can be driving as Jason, switch to Lucia in the passenger seat to use her phone, then switch again during a chase to drive or shoot at enemies
• There's a working social media system in-game that you can actually scroll through, and some characters/storylines can blow up through viral posts
• Your lifestyle also affects how Jason & Lucia look.. Going days without sleeping, being on the run from cops or partying for multiple days can visibly mess with their faces and bodies
• NPCs are much more varied this time, with different ages, heights, body types, tattoos, piercings, plastic surgery, clothing styles and more depending on the area
• Fashion is much deeper too, with clothes, hairstyles and brands made around different lifestyles, cultures, wealth levels and areas of the map
• Rockstar's vehicle handling team even includes actual race-car drivers, with the goal of making driving and handling feel more detailed and realistic
