Princess Diana shook hands with an AIDS patient without gloves in 1991. This was groundbreaking at the time because many people didn't fully understand how HIV was spread.

Consequently, those with the disease often had to spend time alone in AIDS wards.

Diana visited several of these wards to meet the patients. She expressed her feelings towards the patients: "I had always wanted to hug people in hospital beds."

She recounted a particular incident to Morton, saying, "This particular man who was so ill started crying when I sat on his bed, and he held my hand. I thought, 'Diana, do it, just do it,' and I gave him an enormous hug. It was so touching because he clung to me and cried."

A deeply emotional and heart wrenching tribute as the wife of the deceased Zimbabwean musician, Garry Mapanzure sings for her husband.

Garry died last week after the car he was traveling in was involved in an accident.

He fought for his life for 12 hours but Masvingo Provincial Hospital had no oxygen, no CT Scanner and no ambulance to take him to Harare.

Like many before him and probably many after him, he passed on due to the tragic failure of the Zimbabwean Government to provide modern basic requirements in hospitals due to massive corruption, looting of public funds and plunder of the country’s natural resources.

Zimbabwe has simply become a failed State in regards to healthcare!

My condolences to Garry Mapanzure’s family on his tragic passing.

It is painful that he died partly because there was no ICU ambulance in Masvingo to transport him so that he could be helped.

As I have always said, accidents are taking our people because the healthcare system collapsed.

We need a public healthcare system that works in order to save lives otherwise everyone of us can befall the same tragedy.

Until this issue is resolved, many more will die unnecessarily.
