ABOUT US:

The kano state Rural Electricity Board,created by the then military Governor,Alhaji Audu Bako,was established in the year 1973. This is notwithstanding,the contribution of other electric power controlling authorities like the Nigerian Electricity Suppy Corporation (NESCO).
IN 1972,the Federal Government decided to relax NEPA'S Monopoly so as to enable and encourage state Governments get permissions to generate and distribute electricity to places within their areas of jurisdiction,subject to compliance with national technical Specification,and provided no state monopoly was instituted in any area.

WHAT WE DO;

The REB Mandate is to;
-Establish and manage electricity undertakings in those parts of the state where the National Electricity Power Authority does not,at present,maintain electricity undertakings or installations.
-Authorisation to take over electricity Supply to Hospitals,Schools, e.t c.

I am currently attending the two-day 34th COREN Engineering Assembly, which commenced on Tuesday, 14th July 2026, at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium in Abuja. I am privileged to accompany our Managing Director, alongside other senior management staff from the Rural Electricity Board (REB), Kano.

Alhamdulillah! Gratitude to the Most High for a safe and blessed 2026 Hajj journey. May Allah accept our ibadah and guide us aright.

​My deepest, most profound gratitude goes to our visionary leader and darling Governor, His Excellency Abba Kabir Yusuf . Your Excellency, you are not just a leader, but a father whose immense benevolence touches lives in ways words cannot fully describe. By making it possible for me to fulfill this sacred pillar of Islam, you have given me a gift beyond measure.

​"Thank you" is simply an understatement. The Holy Land echoed with heartfelt prayers for your leadership, your wisdom, and your future. I want to assure you, Your Excellency, that with the sheer volume of sincere duas I heard people make for you in front of the Ka’bah, there is no height you desire in life that Allah will not cause you to attain in sha Allah.

​To my family, friends, and political associates, your prayer requests were faithfully presented before the Ka'bah and other sacred du'a spots,in sha Allah.

Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board Announces Return Flight Schedule.

​The Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board has announced that the evacuation of Kano pilgrims back home will commence on June 24, 2026.

​This was disclosed by the Director General during a comprehensive meeting held with all committee members in Saudi Arabia to finalize arrangements for a smooth and hitch-free return journey.

Airlift of Kano pilgrims continues,with two flights ready to depart Kano to jeddah with over 1,000 pilgrims.

Today wednesday,6th flight conveying Kano pilgrims,arrived King Abdul-azeez Airport,jeddah conveying 558 pilgrims.

This is the 2nd to the last flight,with the last scheduled to depart Kano today evening.

Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has officially launched a groundbreaking Federal Government project to change how people move around Kano. By introducing Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) and Electric Vehicles (EV)—including cars and tricycles—Kano is taking a bold step toward cheaper, cleaner, and more modern transportation.

A shocking revelation has surfaced by one SSA to former Governor od Zamfara and Current Minister of defence,that a CSP Hassan Gimba by name killed DADIYATA. This was contained in a petition made by him,and he swore to almighty that they killed Abu Hanifa(Dadiyata) in his presence.

​Prior to the party conventions, widespread speculation suggested that the political structure in Kano was on the verge of a chaotic fracture. Pundits braced for impact, yet the event proved to be both seamless and progressive.

​When the focus shifted to the primaries and the consensus-building process, many anticipated a downfall. However, Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf navigated these turbulent waters with remarkable wisdom. By maintaining the "status quo ante bellum" in his selection of candidates even after the annoucement of no automatic tickets, he ensured internal stability and kept the party faithful satisfied.

​The Governor further fortified his position by integrating a political heavyweight, Murtala Sule Garo, into his team as a key ally. This "firepower" has effectively consolidated his influence across the state. It is now evident that Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has emerged as a master strategist,with the foundation he has laid, the path toward 2027 looks increasingly secure.

Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf is proving that promises made are promises kept. Look at the incredible trajectory of the Rural Electricity Board (REB) since 2023:

​📉 June 2023: We inherited a 197M Naira budget with only 20% performance.

📈 2024: Budget rose to 987M Naira (exhausted by August due to hard work).

🚀 2025:We surpassed 1 Billion Naira +and later went for Supplementary funding.

🔥 2026: Now working with over 2 Billion Naira as approved by Excellency.

​With the Governor’s recent procurement of 500 transformers and the visionary leadership of MD Engr Sani Bala Dambatta , we are lighting up Kano State like never before. This is what dedication to humanity looks like in action.
