π DID YOU KNOW?
Nigeria is Africa's largest economy by Gross Domestic Product (GDP), yet millions of Nigerians still struggle with unemployment, inflation,
and the rising cost of living.

A growing economy should be reflected not only in national statistics but also in the everyday

This week, The Nigerian Thoughts Project (TNTP) is focusing on Nigeria's Economy, understanding the challenges, exploring practical solutions, and encouraging meaningful conversations that can inspire positive change.
In your opinion, what is the biggest economic challenge facing Nigeria today?

π‘ IT'S SOLUTION FRIDAY Nigeria π³π¬
As we conclude Unemployment Week, one thing is clear: solving unemployment requires more than identifying the problem, it requires practical, collaborative solutions.
The Challenge here is;
Many young Nigerians are willing and able to work but struggle to find meaningful employment. At the same time, many employers say they cannot find candidates with the practical skills needed in today's workplace.
TNTP Suggested Solution
At The Nigerian Thoughts Project (TNTP), we believe reducing unemployment requires a coordinated approach.
We recommend:
β Strengthening partnerships between schools and industries.
β Expanding vocational and technical education.
β Equipping young people with digital and entrepreneurial skills.
β Increasing internship and apprenticeship opportunities.
β Supporting small businesses and startups through improved access to funding and mentorship.
When education aligns with industry needs and entrepreneurship is encouraged, more Nigerians can transition from job seekers to job creators.
If you could implement just ONE solution to reduce unemployment in Nigeria, which would it be?
β Improve access to business funding
β Make vocational and technical education more attractive
β Strengthen internship and apprenticeship programmes
β Invest in digital skills and innovation
β Encourage more private sector job creation

It's Friday, and it is termed β Solution Friday.
We want to hear from you todayπ€
Here's one major challenge π
"Many graduates leave school with certificates but lack the practical skills needed for today's job market."
From the desk of TNTP, our suggested solution to this challenge is;
Schools should integrate vocational training, digital literacy, entrepreneurship, internships, and problem-solving into the curriculum so students graduate with both knowledge and employable skills.
In your own opinion;
Which of these would have the greatest impact in closing the gap between education and employment?
β Making internships compulsory before graduation
β Teaching practical and digital skills from secondary school
β Stronger partnerships between schools and industries
β Expanding vocational and technical education
π Tell us why you made your choice. What other practical solution would you recommend?
